  • Patent number: 6743250
Abstract: A light weight, portable thermal rescue/recovery system for mammals up to 300 lbs. In in weight, comprising of a mummy bag which contains a circulating liquid which is either heated when the mammal needs to be warmed as in the case of, for example, a mammal suffering from hypothermia, or cooled when the mammal's body temperature or skin temperature needs to be lowered as in the case of a burn, stroke and some heart attack victims. The mammal is placed into the mummy bag of the portable thermal rescue/recovery system which also has a pump to circulate the liquid and a heat exchanger to cool or heat the liquid. This portable thermal rescue/recovery system is suitable for all rescue vehicles including helicopters, boats, EMS ambulances, fire trucks, police cars, avalanche rescues, ice rescues and air cushion vehicles, as well as stretchers and other manual transport means, among others.

  • Publication number: 20040080411
Abstract: This invention includes a tamper-proof security system to assure the use of, control of and access to the controls of technological systems is, at all times and on a continuous basis, limited exclusively to authorized personnel. This security system includes applications to technological equipment available to, responding to, requiring or involving human participation for their operation and control such as weapons, power plants, machines, communication systems, computer systems, pipeline controls, control centers and transportation equipment including ships, trains, aircraft, trucks and cars. This tamper-proof security system can also be used to limit to authorized persons only, the physical entry into and continued access to restricted areas as well as continuing access to information, data processing, storage and communications systems. In addition, this security system can be used to provide tamper-proof security where the authorized personnel are known or selected from a known group.

  • Publication number: 20030159523
Abstract: The preferred embodiment uses a chamber which is sized no larger than necessary to hold the particular type, size and shape of the baggage or cargo or containers being examined. This chamber has doors or openings sufficient to allow the easy entry and exit of objects being examined. These doors or openings are easily and quickly moved back and forth, making and breaking a vacuum seal which will withstand internal depressurization to the equivalent of an altitude of 12,000 feet above sea level. For the examination of individuals and items not in the container, a flexible tube is attached to vacuum pump. This flexible tube has a short stiff pipe on the end which is used to probe into areas to collect vapors which are then examined by the detector. The tube from the chamber feeds the air collected in the chamber to the vacuum pump which passes the collected air to the detector.

  • Publication number: 20030089650
Abstract: A multiple stage automatic, low-to-no back pressure, high capacity, continuously renewable, separation and filtration system for the contaminated liquids which are discharged into the environment including means to add air to the contaminated liquids as they moved into a vertical elongated hydrostatic chamber wherein the action of gravitational forces and added air separates the contaminants from uncontaminated liquids, with a detachable bottom container for collecting and holding heavier contaminants and a large capacity upper chamber for collecting and holding lighter contaminants with a drain valve for the subsequent environmentally safe disposal of these lighter contaminants liquids, where the out flow of this vertical elongated chamber passes through a generally smaller filter canister composed of a hydrophobic, contaminant attracting filtering material which captures the remaining trace solid and liquid contaminants suspended in the out flow of the hydrostatic chamber.
