  • Publication number: 20200324242
Abstract: A vapor/smoke capturing trap system featuring a smoke chamber trap for precipitating the smoke dispersed in the chamber. The chamber includes a bottom pool for containing a reservoir of a liquid solvent, and a gas filled portion in which a lower smog portion contains fog-sized droplets of the liquid solvent and into which the smoke is introduced, and an upper clear portion in which the concentration of the smoke and the droplets is decreased, respective of their concentration in the smog portion. A fog-condenser, disposed between the smog portion and the clear portion, precipitates the fog droplets of the smog portion into the pool. A fine mist generator streams a jet of fog-sized droplets of the liquid solvent mixed with smoke toward a concentration of the smoke at the smog portion. A closed loop gas circulator withdraws gas from the clear portion and recirculates the gas under pressure through the fine mist generator into the smog portion.

  • Patent number: 8881063
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for conducting the entire development process of new products, such as clothing or fashion designs, from conception through production in a virtual world. The virtual world is a multi-user three-dimensional persistent interactive graphical environment in which a plurality of avatars can interact as if interacting in the physical world to develop a new product. The avatars represent actual individuals that are contributors to the product development process. Each avatar can communicate with other avatars, can interact with and modify the graphical environment and can manipulate three-dimensional objects within the graphical environment for purposes of demonstration, explanation or review. Databases containing the necessary elements for product design are provided and are accessible by the avatars within the graphical environment.

  • Publication number: 20030204405
Abstract: An apparatus and method for providing modular conversation policies to agents are provided. The apparatus and method provide a mechanism by which conversation policies are implemented in a modular manner such that modification and personalization of the conversation policies to a particular application in an electronic business system is possible. With the apparatus and method, the conversation policies are implemented as objects that may be downloadable and pluggable into existing electronic business systems. Thus, the apparatus and method allow conversation policies to be obtained from third parties and easily integrated into an established electronic business system.

  • Publication number: 20010033863
Abstract: A substrate is robotically picked up at a station and transported to a measuring station to measure the distance to a reference. The substrate is aligned to a robot before measurement. The measured substrate is then transported to a pharmaceutical or diagnostic powder/grain deposition station where the powder/grains are controllably deposited on the substrate to predetermined thicknesses over a plurality of powder/grain collection zones. The deposited powder/grains are then measured to determine the thickness and area covered by the deposited powder/grains at each collection zone. The substrate is then transported to a lamination station and each collection zone of powder/grains is welded to a cover substrate. The system remembers which collection zones are out of specification so that they can be later selectively discarded.

  • Patent number: 5800234
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing a metallized luminescent screen for a CRT. At least one phosphor layer is deposited (10) on an inner surface of a faceplate panel to form the luminescent screen. The panel containing the screen is then preheated (12) to a temperature equal to, or in excess of, a minimum film-forming temperature and prewetted (14) by applying water to the screen. An aqueous filming emulsion containing a copolymer of acrylates and methacrylates with an average molecular weight of from 250,000 to 500,000 is applied (16) to the prewetted screen and dried (18) to form a film layer. Next, a layer of aluminum is deposited (20) onto the film layer, and the panel, bearing the metallized screen, is sealed to a funnel by heating the panel and the funnel through a sealing cycle. The sealing cycle(22) has a first rate of temperature increase to a first temperature and a second rate of temperature increase, less than the first rate, to a second temperature.

  • Patent number: 5778150
Abstract: The method of the invention enables the situating of reasoning engines which have the capability to store premises as knowledge representation expressions, as well as to conclude knowledge representation expressions and/or to evaluate (or test), knowledge representation expressions and/or to respond to delivered directive events that request the engine to perform reasoning. The result of the method is a situated reasoning system which extends the given reasoning engine's functionality by augmenting it with procedural attachments, using zero or more provided attached procedures. This extension of functionality permits especially the capabilities for sensing and/or effecting and/or responding to delivered directive events. The method permits attachment of the attached procedures to be dynamic or static.
