  • Publication number: 20240410777
Abstract: An apparatus configured to be removably attached to a tire/hub assembly of a vehicle via lug nuts of the tire/hub assembly is used to determine imbalance forces of the tire/hub assembly during motion of the vehicle. The apparatus includes a disk and a plurality of cup-shaped objects fixed at one end to the disk and extending perpendicularly outward from the disk. The plurality of cup-shaped objects are arranged a fixed radial distance from a radial center of the disk in a pattern that matches the lug nuts of the tire/hub assembly. The apparatus is mounted to the vehicle's tire/hub assembly by fitting the plurality of cup-shaped objects over the lug nuts of the tire/hub assembly. The apparatus further includes one or more inertial measurement units (IMU's) mounted to the disk to measure parameters that are used for calculating the imbalance forces during motion of the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 11982586
Abstract: A method is provided for collecting measurement parameters related to imbalance forces of a tire/hub assembly of a vehicle during motion of the vehicle. An apparatus is removably attached to the tire/hub assembly of the vehicle via lug nuts of the tire/hub assembly. The apparatus includes a disk, a plurality of cup-shaped objects, and one or more inertial measurement units (IMU's) mounted to the disk. Each of the cup-shaped objects are rigidly fixed at one end to the disk and extend perpendicularly outward from the disk. The plurality of cup-shaped objects are arranged a fixed radial distance from a radial center of the disk in a pattern that matches the lug nuts of the tire/hub assembly. The one or more inertial measurement units (IMU's) are mounted to the disk and configured to measure parameters that are used for calculating the imbalance forces during motion of the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 9411760
Abstract: In a system and method for a thin-client terminal system having a local screen buffer using a serial bus, a serial bus interface device receives encoded data from a thin-client server system. The serial bus interface device decodes the encoded data according to a serial bus data format and provides the decoded data to a thin-client control system. The thin-client control system distributes the decoded data for processing to a video processing system, an audio processing system, and an input/output control system. The thin-client control system also receives input data from input devices connected to the thin-client terminal system. The input data is processed and encoded according to the serial bus data format for transmission to the thin-client server system.

  • Publication number: 20050110756
Abstract: A device for controlling keyboard keys displayed on a display. A three dimensional position sensing device is used to locate a pointing object such as a finger tip hovering over a display screen. A processor moves the displayed keys in corresponding x and y directions responsive to the two dimensional location of the finger tip. The processor also increases or decreases the size of a portion of the displayed keys depending on whether the finger tip is moving toward or away from the display in the z-direction in order to assist the user in navigating a full keyboard in a small display.

  • Patent number: 6724683
Abstract: A data synchronizer (210) transfers data from a data sending circuit (120) to a data receiving circuit (130). The data sending circuit is synchronous with a first clock (SCLK), and a data receiving circuit is synchronous with a second clock (RCLK). The two clocks have equal frequencies but may be out of phase. The synchronizer includes a circular FIFO. The FIFO entries (FF0-FF3) are written synchronously with the first clock (SCLK). The entries' outputs are connected to a multiplexer (230) whose select signals (RSEL0-RSEL3) are generated synchronously with the second clock (RCLK). Multiple entries make their data items available to the multiplexer at the same time. The sender (120) writes a data item and a data valid flag to the FIFO in each cycle of the first clock. The receiver (130) reads the FIFO in each cycle of the second clock.

  • Patent number: 6560821
Abstract: A glass door hinge is provided which is self-centering and clamps a glass door between two opposed clamps. The hinge includes a mount, a pair of clamps, a hinge block, a spindle, and a biasing member for engaging the spindle to return the clamps and the door to a centered position. Each of the clamps is preferably provided with a lipped gasket which isolates the door from the metal hinge components. One of the clamps has a pair of set screws for holding the spindle in position relative to the clamps, and a pair of locking screws for inhibiting movement of the set screws. The set screws and locking screws are concealed from view by being received entirely within the clamp.

  • Patent number: 6115444
Abstract: Structure and method for counting a predetermined number of counts is provided. A count end value is identified which is greater than or equal to (not less than) the predetermined number of counts. The count end value is chosen such that it is representable by n symbols (designated n-1, n-2, . . . , m, m-1, . . . , 1, 0) where the most significant n-1 through m symbols are a first binary symbol and the least significant m-1 through 0 symbols are a different second binary symbol, for example "1"0 and "0". An n-symbol current count value (also representable by n-1, n-2, . . . , m, m-1, . . . , 1, 0 symbols) is initialized to a count start value which is equal to the count end value minus the predetermined number of counts, then as the counter counts, the current count value is incremented by one (or some other count increment) for each count or cycle of the counter. After each iteration (or before the next iteration of the counter cycle) each of the n-1, . . .
