  • Publication number: 20140090224
Abstract: A torque applying system includes a torque applying tool having a motor and rotating output spindle, a torque sensor that measures an instantaneous torque exerted by the output spindle during a fastening cycle, and a controller operatively connected to the tool to control the tool's rotational speed during the fastening cycle. The controller is programmed to control the tool's rotational speed to be [(?F??C)/t]/r, wherein t is a time constant of speed control, ?F is a target final torque for the fastening cycle, and r is a torque rate.

  • Publication number: 20130338609
Abstract: An implantable portal includes a septum that has embedded therein an indicia adapted to identify at least one characteristic of the portal. The indicia may be formed as an impression at a base layer of the septum, and is filled with a radiopaque material. The septum base layer is covered by liquid silicone, which bonds with the septum base layer when solidified, so that an integral one-piece septum, with the identifier indicia embedded therein, is effected. The indicia embedded septum is fitted to the reservoir housing of the portal for providing identification information for that portal. The septum embedded indicia is viewable visually and also by x-ray or computer tomography imaging.

  • Publication number: 20130159739
Abstract: A processor includes a plurality of exclusive resources, a shared resource, and a controller configured to manage power state transitions of each of the plurality of exclusive resources and the shared resource. The controller receives a request from a resource to transition from a first power state to a lower power state and, in response to receiving the request, the controller controls power state transitions of the resource according to a first power control threshold when the resource is one of the plurality of exclusive resources and according to a second power control threshold that is greater than the first power control threshold when the resource is the shared resource.

  • Patent number: 8166246
Abstract: A computer implemented method, a processor chip, a data processing system, and computer program product in a data processing system process information in a store cache of a data processing system. The store cache receives a first entry that includes a first address indicating a first segment of a cache line. The store cache then receives a second entry including a second address indicating a second segment of the cache line. Responsive to the first segment not being equal to the second segment, the first entry is chained to the second entry.
