  • Publication number: 20210407013
Abstract: There are provided systems and methods for extensible device assessment and dynamic policy configuration, where a plurality of devices associated with a primary device owner can be covered in a dynamically adjustable insurance policy. In one embodiment, a primary device is tested and assessed for insurability, then additional related devices may be discovered devices through network connections established through communications interfaces with the primary device (as well as direct inputs from the device owner. Then once devices are discovered and more fully diagnosed for operational status, insurance/warranty options are assessed, and a list of devices, coverage options, and cost is provided to the device owner. As such, comprehensive insurance with known and manageable risk may be provided for a collection of devices, not all of which may be presented to an insurance agent in person.

  • Patent number: 10126806
Abstract: Systems and methods for determining the state of health for a capacitor module are provided. In some embodiments, a method for monitoring the health of a capacitor module comprising an array of capacitors is provided. The method may include steps for disabling a charger coupled to an array of capacitors of the capacitor module, determining if the capacitor module is healthy based at least on operating values of the capacitor module, and enabling a write back mode for the memory module if the capacitor module is determined to be healthy.

  • Patent number: 9798682
Abstract: A method for providing notification of completion of a computing task includes providing access to an information handling resource for a first information handling system, registering the first information handling system with a first completion queue, submitting commands from the first information handling system to a first submission queue, providing access to the information handling resource for second first information handling system, registering the second information handling system with the first completion queue, and submitting commands from the second information handling system to a second submission queue. Upon execution of commands in the first submission queue and the second submission queue, an entry in is created a first completion queue. Upon the creation of an entry in the first completion queue, an interrupt is selectively sent to the first information handling resource and to the second information handling resource.

  • Patent number: 9632935
Abstract: In some embodiments, a method for controlling a cache having a volatile memory and a non-volatile memory during a power up sequence is provided. The method includes receiving, at a controller configured to control the cache and a storage device associated with the cache, a signal indicating whether the non-volatile memory includes dirty data copied from the volatile memory to the non-volatile memory during a power down sequence, the dirty data including data that has not been stored in the storage device. In response to the received signal, the dirty data is restored from the non-volatile memory to the volatile memory, and flushed from the volatile memory to the storage device.

  • Publication number: 20130137376
Abstract: The invention is directed to systems and methods for detecting the loss, theft or unauthorized use of a device and/or altering the functionality of the device in response. In one embodiment, a device monitors its use, its local environment, and/or its operating context to determine that the device is no longer within the control of an authorized user. The device may receive communications or generate an internal signal altering its functionality, such as instructing the device to enter a restricted use mode, a surveillance mode, to provide instructions to return the device and/or to prevent unauthorized use or unauthorized access to data. Additional embodiments also address methods and systems for addressing devices that have low or no power.
