  • Patent number: 11961332
Abstract: One or more electronic device may use motion and/or activity sensors to estimate a user's 6 minute walking distance. In particular, because users typically walk at less than their maximum output and in imperfect conditions, control circuitry within the device(s) may rely on walks of shorter distances to estimate the 6 minute walking distance. For example, the control circuitry may gather activity information for the user, such as heart rate, calories burned, and step count, and analyze a distance component and a speed component for periods in which the user has walked. Individual 6 minute walk distance estimates may be generated based on each of the activity information, distance component, and speed component. The distance and speed estimates may be corrected for walking behaviors that deviate from an ideal testing environment, and may then be fused with the activity estimate to generate a final 6 minute walk distance estimate.

  • Publication number: 20160058182
Abstract: A storage system for cylindrical objects including first second and third frame members each having a top surface, a bottom surface and end portions; a number of spaced saddle portions on the top surface of the first frame member, and the top and bottom surfaces of the second and third frame members. Each saddle portion is configured for contacting a portion of the outer circumference of a cylindrical object. One of the surfaces of the second and third frame members includes an odd number of saddle portions while the other surface includes an even number. The bottom surface of the second frame member faces the top surface of the first frame member and has the same number of saddle portions while the bottom surface of the third frame member faces the top surface of the second frame member and has the same number of saddle portions.

  • Patent number: 4801543
Abstract: Disclosed is a process and device for facilitating the differentiation of particles in a medium. The particles, which belong to at least two different groups of particles, are enclosed in a chamber bounded by electrodes which produce a rotating electrical field. A means for producing two rotating electrical fields having opposite directions of rotation and variable rotational frequency is provided to be attached to the electrodes. The particles exposed to the rotating electrical field forces with opposite directions of rotation can be differentiated on the basis of their rotational behavior.

  • Patent number: 4634669
Abstract: Disclosed is a process and device for facilitating the differentiation of particles in a medium. The particles are exposed to a rotating electrical field of variable rotational frequency. By providing a means for adjusting the frequency of the rotating fields, the particles can be caused to rotate in different directions thereby facilitating differentiation of particles belonging to different groups of particles. An apparatus for implementing this process includes at least three electrodes which are arranged so as to form a space therebetween. A device for producing a rotating field of variable rotational frequency is connected to the electrodes.
