  • Publication number: 20110005877
Abstract: An improvement to damping cylinders in which the damping fluid needs to be separated from a gas is disclosed. In particular, an annular bladder is used. An annular bladder allows for a control shaft to extend at least a portion of the length of the damping cylinder. This configuration effectively and simply reduces most issues that result from when an IFP is used for the same purpose.

  • Patent number: 7163222
Abstract: A bicycle fork includes a pair of fork leg assemblies, each of the leg assemblies having an upper leg telescopingly engaged with a lower leg. A damping assembly is provided in at least one of the legs. The damping assembly includes an adjustable valve, sometimes referred to as a pressure-relief or blow-off valve. The adjustable valve is externally adjustable without tools. Furthermore, the adjustable valve and another fluid flow control valve may be adjusted independently of each other.

  • Publication number: 20040206712
Abstract: A rotatable storage device includes a frame member and a panel member rotatably mounted about its longitudinal axis within the frame member. The panel member includes a first surface and a second surface. The first surface includes a mirror and the second surface includes a plurality of storage areas. The rotatable storage device further has a bottom support and an upper support, the bottom support including a plurality of legs and the upper support including a plurality of wall engaging brackets. The plurality of storage areas may include, for example, a message board, a row of hooks, a storage cradle and/or a generally horizontal shelf.

  • Patent number: 6592136
Abstract: An off-road bicycle suspension fork includes a pair of fork leg assemblies, each of the leg assemblies having an upper leg telescopingly engaged with a lower leg. A damping assembly is provided in at least one of the legs and includes a cartridge tube connected to the lower leg and a piston connected to the upper tube by a shaft. The piston is telescopingly engaged with the cartridge tube to define a compression chamber below the piston. A control assembly is located at a top portion of the upper leg and is in communication with the compression chamber via a central passage of the shaft. A reservoir is defined between at least a portion of the lower tube and the cartridge. During compression of the suspension fork, fluid flows from the compression chamber, upward through the central passage of the shaft, through the control assembly and to the reservoir.

  • Patent number: 6217049
Abstract: A bicycle suspension fork for use on a bicycle, and preferably a road bicycle. The suspension fork has a preload adjuster that is designed and formed such that it is readily usable in the front fork of a bicycle without adding undue weight to the bicycle. The preload adjuster has interengaging preload elements that, instead of having a bulky adjustment mechanism typically provided for preload adjustment. Preferably, the preload elements have interengaging ribs and grooves, the relative position of which are adjustable to adjust preload on the suspension biasing element in the fork. Additionally, a lockout mechanism is provided for adjusting the compressibility of the suspension fork by rotating no more than about 60° during use of the bicycle. The lockout mechanism preferably has first and second fluid chambers in fluid communication and a fluid circulation control unit. Fluid flows between the chambers during compression and expansion of the suspension fork.

  • Patent number: 5984423
Abstract: A hub retainer device for maintaining the position of a bicycle wheel, particularly the wheel hub, with respect to a bicycle fork dropout. The hub retainer device includes a base portion dimensioned to fit securely within a recess defined in an outer surface of a bicycle fork dropout. The bicycle wheel skewer rod is passed through a hole defined in the base portion of the hub retainer device. The hub retainer further includes a projecting portion shaped to fit securely within the dropout slot. Preferably, a shoulder portion extends from the projecting portion beyond the inside surface of the dropout and is shaped to receive a shoulder on the wheel hub or an axle stub. Thus, loads on the wheel are transferred to the interface between the hub and hub retainer rather than to the interface between the skewer rod and the dropout as in prior art configurations not having a hub retainer as described.
