  • Publication number: 20230286038
Abstract: A monitoring system may monitor a casting environment, for example, including a mold. The monitoring system may include a camera and a computer system. The camera may be positioned to capture or detect optical data associated with one or more components in a casting environment. The camera may send the optical data to the computer system and the computer system may generate a profile associated with the casting environment. The profile may be compared with a baseline profile to determine whether a particular event has occurred. Based on the event that may have occurred, operating instructions can be generated. The operating instructions may be used to adjust the casting process.

  • Publication number: 20230202767
Abstract: A metal casting system includes a master conveyor, a slave conveyor, a cutting device, and a control system. The master conveyor includes a first belt and a first motor, and the slave conveyor is separated from the master conveyor and includes a second belt and a second belt. The cutting device is between the master conveyor and the slave conveyor and selectively cuts a metal product that is conveyed by the master conveyor and the slave conveyor. The control system includes a sensor that detects ends of sections of the metal product as the sections of the metal product move in a downstream direction. The control system also includes a controller communicatively coupled with the sensor. The controller selectively controls at least one of the first motor or the second motor based on the detected ends from the sensor.

  • Publication number: 20010003292
Abstract: End or tab stock and a method for its manufacture in which a low alloy content aluminum alloy is continuously cast to form a hot feedstock, the hot feedstock is rapidly annealed and quenched rapidly to prevent substantial precipitation of alloying elements and rolled. The can end and tab stock of the invention has strength and formability equal to higher alloy content aluminum alloy.

  • Patent number: 4280676
Abstract: A device for holding a flexible, nonselfsupporting bag in an opened position for allowing the bag to be filled with leaves, grass or the like. The device includes a body member having a cavity therethrough substantially in the shape of a truncated right cone with the large end of the cone normally directed downward. The bag is inserted into the hollow body member and the mouth of the bag is attached to the top of the body member in an opened position. Once the bag is filled, the mouth of the bag is detached from the top of the body member and the body member is lifted over the bag. The sloping sides of the cavity in the body member makes the device easy to lift over the filled bag.

  • Patent number: 3987868
Abstract: A silencing device or muffler for internal combustion engines comprises a hollow body including an outer shell having an inlet port and an outlet port. At least one apertured conical element or frusto-conical cup is arranged in the shell to form at least one inner expansion chamber therein. The conical element includes a completely solid wall structure that is impermeable to exhaust gas and has at least one opening along only the bottom portion thereof to cause all of the exhaust gases to move therethrough. A further feature includes a baffle plate disposed transversely of the interior of the shell and in operative relationship to the conical elements. The plate is shaped or apertured to permit a flow of exhaust gas around or through it when the gas passes into the shell and through the opening in said conical element.
