  • Publication number: 20240104533
Abstract: A screen-less automated teller machine (ATM) may be configured to interact with a mobile device. The ATM may automatically detect the presence of the mobile device in a vicinity of the ATM and initiate contact with the mobile device, or a mobile device may initiate contact with the ATM. After verifying user permission to access the ATM, the mobile device may be enabled to provide user access to one or more of the banking services available at the ATM using the mobile device. As the ATM is screen-less, banking-related information may be viewed and/or input at the ATM using the mobile device. An application on the mobile device may be used to access and interact with the ATM using the mobile device.

  • Publication number: 20240095698
Abstract: Methods for banking at an automated teller machine (ATM) using a mobile device. The ATM may automatically detect the presence of the mobile device in a vicinity of the ATM and initiate contact with the mobile device, or a mobile device may initiate contact with the ATM. After verifying user permission to access the ATM, the mobile device may be enabled to provide user access to one or more of the banking services available at the ATM using the mobile device and to view banking-related information on the mobile device. A mobile application on the mobile device may be used to access the ATM using the mobile device. While a mobile device is accessing the ATM, a screen on the ATM may become inactive for banking services and the option to select banking services directly at the ATM may be disabled.

  • Patent number: 11936228
Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to a battery charger for charging a connected battery pack. The battery charger is capable of determining an impedance characteristic value of the battery pack and adjusting a charging scheme, including an initial and/or subsequent charging rates for the battery pack based on the determined impedance characteristic value. The present disclosure is also directed to a method of charging a battery pack. The method includes determining an impedance characteristic value of the battery pack and adjusting a charging scheme, including an initial and/or subsequent charging rates for the battery pack based on the determined impedance characteristic value.

  • Patent number: 4855048
Abstract: The method of preparing dried asymmetric cellulose acetate blend membranes through the use of at least one drying agent which is a hydrophobic organic compound, such as polysiloxanes, hydrocarbons, ethers, ketones, chlorohydrocarbons or nitrohydrocarbons. The membranes are dried from their aqueous state by direct evaporation of water. The resulting air dried membranes are suitable for the desalination of water by reverse osmosis, non-aqueous liquid separation, ultrafiltration, pervaporation, and for the separation of various gaseous mixtures into their constituent parts.

  • Patent number: 4609634
Abstract: Disclosed is a highly efficient continuous method for the aqueous extraction of water-soluble oxidation catalyst material from a residue such as that generated in the production of dimethyl terephthalate from p-xylene by the molecular oxygen oxidation and methanol esterification process. In the method the desired end product is an aqueous solution of the catalyst material. The residue to be extracted is established in finely dispersed condition in part of the aqueous solution at a weight ratio of aqueous solution to residue of above about 1:1 and maintained in that condition for a length of time sufficient for maximum transfer of catalyst material from the residue to the aqueous solution to take place. The resulting dispersion then is separated in a phase separation zone into an aqueous phase and an extracted residue phase. The separated aqueous phase is withdrawn from the phase separation zone as the aqueous solution.

  • Patent number: 4582726
Abstract: In fabricating membrane elements, and especially spiral wound membrane elements, for the separation of extraction solvents, especially N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone (NMP) from extracted oil fractions (e.g., extract of raffinate), adhesive systems consisting of specific silicone elastomers in combination with specific primers have been identified which are useful in forming the bonds necessary to produce an element, as for example, in forming the edge-seal bonds of the membrane that is used to effect the separation, in bonding the membrane leaves to the metal or plastic components of the element, and in forming a protective outer-wrap for the element.

  • Patent number: 4464494
Abstract: In fabricating a reverse osmosis spiral wound apparatus for the separation of organic fluid mixtures, especially for the separation of dewaxing solvents containing ketone from dewaxed oil by permeation through a permeable membrane such as pretreated regenerated cellulose or asymmetric polyimide a special epoxy adhesive formulation is used to form the membrane element edge seals which serve to define separate permeate zones and feed stream zones. This special adhesive formulation is characterized by having a relatively long pot life, (i.e. will not set too quickly) permitting it to be easily handled during application to the membrane edges in the course of element fabrication, as well as being flexible (trimable) and of proper viscosity.

  • Patent number: 4323632
Abstract: A metal composite comprising a substrate having a uniformly, mildly etched surface of an aluminum alloy, e.g. an alloy, consisting of at least about 99 wt. % aluminum, and the balance comprising specified quantities of silicon, iron, copper, manganese and zinc, and a uniformly adhering, electrocathodically deposited copper foil. The resulting peel strength between the aluminum alloy surface and the copper foil, after lamination of the composite to a resinous substrate under heat and pressure is within the range of from about 6 to about 8 lbs./in. of width of copper foil. This can be reduced to a value within the range of about 0.3 to about 2 lbs./in. of width by overplating the copper foil with a layer of zinc or indium. The resinous substrate may be a glass fiber reinforced epoxy resin, such as is used in the manufacture of printed circuit boards.

  • Patent number: 4145674
Abstract: Method and apparatus for suppressing differential and common mode conducted electromagnetic interference emission in electrical equipment powered from a grounded A.C. line source without creation of a shock hazard. Differential mode interference is suppressed by connecting a capacitor across the power lines and common mode interference is suppressed by an inductor inserted in the ground lead, both positioned within the equipment case or housing. The capacitor and inductor can have substantially fixed values for a wide range of equipment. In the preferred embodiment, the inductor is constructed by winding a few turns of the ground lead itself through a high permeability, ferrite toroid positioned within the case or housing.
