  • Publication number: 20240106883
Abstract: A method for sharing digital content includes determining whether a first computing device is physically located within a defined geographical area, if the first computing device is physically located within the defined geographical area, providing access of shareable digital content to the first computing device, instantiating a tethering object associated with the shareable digital content, the tethering object including at least a first endpoint at the first computing device and a second endpoint at a second computing device remote from the first computing device, and providing access of at least a portion of the shareable digital content, via the tethering object, to the second endpoint at the second computing device remote from the first computing device. Other example methods and computer systems for implementing content sharing methods are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 11037147
Abstract: Embodiments of the invention provide a fraud deterrent for retail money transfer or stored value product. In some embodiments, a two dimensional grid of number, letters, characters, and/or symbols can be provided retail packaging or cards that can be used as a second authentication factor in order to redeem funds. In some embodiments, methods and/or systems are also provided that associate control numbers with the grid, create the grid, provide the grid on packaging, and/or use the grid to authenticate a customer.

  • Patent number: 8122152
Abstract: Systems and software that enable mapping of a particular network transaction with a specific computer and user in an organization. The network packet may be a live in-transit packet, or a packet that occurred at some time in the past. In a particular implementation, a database currently comprises a collection of records containing fields for username, computer name, IP address of the computer, and logon time. A name resolution is performed by taking an IP address and time as input, and determining from the records in the database what user's computer owned the IP address at that time.

  • Publication number: 20120036263
Abstract: A system and a method are provided for controlling access to web pages. It includes receiving an input to access a web page, and then determining if the Web page is on a work list or a recreation list. The work list includes one or more web pages related to work and the recreation list includes one or more web pages related to recreation. If the web page is not on either list, then a request is issued for a categorization of the web page. Upon receiving the categorization, the web page is stored in the work list or the recreation list, and access is provided to the web page.

  • Publication number: 20110289216
Abstract: A system and a method are provided for generating a subnet and using the subnet to control access to web content. An Open Subnet (OSN) server is provided to receive proposed web pages to be added to a white list on the subnet, as well as votes from one or more users whether or not to add one or more of the web pages to the white list. A sync server is connected to the OSN through an intermediary. The sync server obtains a copy of the white list and, based on a user's license to the subnet, a user is allowed access to web pages on the white list.

  • Patent number: 7008158
Abstract: A fastening system and assembly functions as a washer ring components but also provides for locking the bolt head end to prevent rotation of the threaded shaft while tightening the nut. The same device can be used alone on the threaded end of a bolt, or in conjunction with another device on the bolt head end, to locking the nut after tightening. The fastener has a flat face on one surface but is sufficiently thick to receive either the nut or the bolt head in a cavity formed in the other surface. The cavity is co-axial with a central bore passing through the fastener, with the cavity having larger interior dimensions matched to the profile of the intended nut or bolt head. The fastener may also included one or more mounting or fastening holes outside of the central bore for securing it to a fixed object, typically the structure to be joined by the fastener.

  • Publication number: 20050029896
Abstract: The present invention provides a brush holder assembly for holding carbon brushes against the commutator of a DC motor. The brush holder assembly may include elongated brush receptacles that can accommodate longer carbon brushes, and a double fulcrum design that assists in holding the brushes against the commutator with constant force, or a nearly constant force. In a particular embodiment, the brush holder assembly may be mounted within the motor housing of an off-highway vehicle with a motorized wheel, a locomotive, or an oil rig. For these kinds of applications, the space between the motor housing and the commutator may be particularly narrow and confined, and the double fulcrum design makes it possible to employ brushes with greater lengths of useful carbon and to manually replace them with minimal down time.
