    Abstract: Methods and apparatus for a memory device host that stores and retrieves program and data information for multiple CPU-based modules in a programmable logic controller system are described. In one embodiment, the memory host module is configured to store multiple programs and corresponding data within the memory of the memory host module and further configured to retrieve programs and data from the memory of the memory host module for storage in other CPU-based modules.
