Abstract: A device includes an interposer card that includes a processor, such as a system on a chip (SoC), and memory devices. The interposer card mounts to a mass storage device and has a shape that corresponds to a size of an end of the mass storage device to which the interposer card is mounted. The SoC of the interposer card is configured to implement an individual server for the mass storage device to which the interposer card is mounted. In some embodiments, a data storage system includes multiple mass storage devices mounted in a chassis and coupled to one or more backplanes, wherein interposer cards are connected between the mass storage devices and the one or more backplanes.

Abstract: A method is provided in one example embodiment and includes, for each of a plurality of individual storage units collectively comprising a virtual storage unit, mapping an internal address of the storage unit to a unique IP address, wherein each of the storage units comprises a block of storage on one of a plurality of physical storage devices and wherein the IP address includes a virtual storage unit number identifying the virtual storage unit; receiving from a client a request to perform an operation on at least one of the data storage units, wherein the request identifies the internal address of the at least one of the data storage units; translating the internal address of the at least one of the data storage unit to the unique IP address of the at least one of the data storage units; and performing the requested operation on the at least one of the data storage units.

Abstract: A battery system with a passive thermal management system is formed from a plurality of battery cells arranged on a printed circuit board assembly. In some cases, the printed circuit board assembly may include a flexible printed circuit board that is folded along an axis forming an upper and lower portion of the printed circuit board assembly. The thermal management system may include fire-blocking foam members individually attached to each battery cell. The battery cells may be arranged in a grid-like pattern to allow for a spacing arrangement between the battery cells to keep a failing battery cell from negatively affecting an adjacent battery cell. In addition, the flexible printed circuit card may include a fuse for each battery cell to shut off any current flow to a faulty battery cell if it begins to fail causing current flow to exceed beyond a predetermined current limit. The battery system may be a conformal wearable battery.

Abstract: This disclosure describes methods and systems to externally manage network-to-network interconnect configuration data in conjunction with a centralized database subsystem. An example of the methods includes receiving and storing, in the centralized database subsystem, data indicative of user intent to interconnect at least a first network and a second network. The example method further includes, based at least in part on the data indicative of user intent, determining and storing, in the centralized database subsystem, a network intent that corresponds to the user intent. The example method further includes providing data indicative of the network intent from the centralized database subsystem to a first data plane adaptor, associated with the first network, and a second data plane adaptor, associated with the second network.

Abstract: A mobile dwelling includes a chassis supported by one or more axles, a shelter frame mounted to the chassis, a plurality of panels supported on the shelter frame enclose a living space. Positioned within the chassis, a plurality of battery modules are operatively isolated from the one or more axles and are adapted to selectively output power for charging a battery pack of an electric tow vehicle. A method for charging an electric vehicle includes providing a mobile dwelling, towing the mobile dwelling with an electric vehicle from a first location to a second location, coupling the battery modules with the electric vehicle and charging the electric vehicle.

Abstract: This disclosure describes techniques for providing a distributed scalable architecture for Network Address Translation (NAT) systems with high availability and mitigations for flow breakage during failover events. The NAT servers may include functionality to serve as fast-path servers and/or slow-path servers. A fast-path server may include a NAT worker that includes a cache of NAT mappings to perform stateful network address translation and to forward packets with minimal latency. A slow-path server may include a mapping server that creates new NAT mappings, depreciates old ones, and answers NAT worker state requests. The NAT system may use virtual mapping servers (VMSs) running on primary physical servers with state duplicated VMSs on different physical failover servers.

Abstract: Systems and techniques for tracking and providing real-time visualizations of maintenance time for datacenter components. The systems include sensors to detect when datacenter components are opened for maintenance, such as hot switching of hard drive disks, to initialize a countdown timer. Status indicator lights of components within the datacenter component are used to display visual representations of the countdown timer. The visualizations present a remaining or elapsed maintenance time remaining to ensure components of the datacenter component are not damaged by overheating during maintenance.

The microscope optics are configured to direct a magnified image of a specimen onto the neuromorphic imaging sensor. The spike signals may be processed by a processor unit to generate a result, such as tracking biological particles in a specimen comprising biological material.

Abstract: A method for automatically computing the position and score for each dart on a dartboard using a single image of the dart and dartboard captured from any camera angle. A computing device with at least one connected camera captures an image of a dartboard. The computing device performs various image processing tasks and computes the landing position of each dart present in the image and the positions of multiple dartboard calibration points. The dartboard calibration points are used to compute a transformation matrix that transforms the detected points in the image plane to corresponding points in the dartboard plane. The score of each dart is computed based on the relative positioning of the transformed points in the dartboard plane. The method may be used to perform automatic scorekeeping in a variety of different dart games, either in a single location or in remote locations.

Abstract: A housing of a conformal wearable battery (CWB) encloses a plurality of battery cells arranged in a grid-like pattern and electrically connected to a printed circuit board (PCB). The PCB includes an electrical connection pad that is electrically coupled to a positive terminal of a battery cell of the plurality of battery cells and a positive conductive region receiving electrical energy from one or more of the plurality of battery cells. A redundant trace fuse circuit is formed on the PCB to facilitate electrical connection of the electrical connection pad and the positive conductive region. The redundant trace fuse circuit includes a first fusible link for electrically connecting the first electrical connection pad to the positive conductive region and a second fusible link that is selectively enabled to electrically connect the first electrical connection pad to the positive conductive region when the first fusible link is inoperative.

In some embodiments a three levels of popularity may be determined comprising popular, semi-popular and unpopular designations for the queried content. The processing of the query and delivery of the requested content depends on the aforementioned popularity level designation and comprises a acceptance of the query at the edge cache server to which the query was originally directed, rejection of the query and re-direction to a second edge cache server or redirection of the query to origin server to thereby deliver the requested content. The proposed technology results in higher hit ratio for edge cache clusters by steering requests for semi-popular content to one or more additional cache servers while forwarding request for unpopular content to origin server.
