  • Publication number: 20200382921
Abstract: Minimally invasive surgical methods employ an offset drive shaft to actuate an end effector. A minimally invasive surgical method includes introducing an end effector to an internal surgical site. The end effector includes an end effector base that is coupled to the instrument shaft via a wrist. An end effector articulation mechanism is operated to reorient the end effector base relative to the instrument shaft. A surgical task is performed by operating a motor to rotate an offset drive shaft relative to the instrument shaft to actuate the end effector.

  • Patent number: 10779896
Abstract: Mechanisms, assemblies, systems, tools, and methods include an offset drive shaft within an independently rotating member. An example method of transmitting torque through an offset drive shaft routed within a rotatable main shaft includes supporting a main shaft to rotate relative to a base so that the main shaft rotates about a main shaft rotational axis. A drive shaft is supported to rotate relative to the main shaft so that the drive shaft rotates about a drive shaft rotational axis that is offset from the main shaft rotational axis. The drive shaft is engaged with a drive feature having a drive feature rotational axis that is fixed relative to the base as the main shaft rotates. The main shaft is rotated relative to the base. The drive feature is rotated relative to the main shaft so as to rotate the drive shaft relative to the main shaft.

  • Patent number: 10460262
Abstract: In some embodiments, an electronic ticket verification system may include a beacon device having a radio that is configured to broadcast a beacon address to a mobile device having a screen display, a radio, a processor, and an electronic ticket stored within a data store. The electronic ticket may include graphical depictions of the electronic ticket in locked, redeemable, and redeemed states, and a ticket beacon address. The processor of the mobile device may display the graphical depiction of the electronic ticket in the redeemable state when the radio of the mobile device receives the broadcasted beacon address from the beacon device that matches the ticket beacon address, and the processor may change the electronic ticket from the redeemable state to the redeemed state by no longer receiving the matching broadcasted beacon address or response to input received through the touch screen display of the mobile device.

  • Patent number: 9918731
Abstract: A surgical end effector includes a clevis and one or more jaws pivotally coupled to the clevis. At least one jaw includes a slot. An axle assembly includes a bearing axle that rotatably supports a bearing, which may be a plain bearing. An actuator coupling is coupled to the bearing axle. The bearing engages the slot such that pushing and pulling on the actuator coupling causes one jaw to close against the other jaw. The bearing axle and the jaws may be made from materials that are prone to galling and the bearing may be made from a material that resists galling. The slot may include a lip that supports the bearings in a spaced apart relationship. The bearing axle may be less than 1.5 millimeters in diameter and each bearing may be less than 3.0 millimeters in diameter.
