Patent number: 11118392Abstract: An automatic door operator operating on standard 120V/240V AC power utilizes a servomotor for operation, and thus no separate transformer is required for the operator. The servomotor incorporates programming to limit torque, and thus no slip clutch is required in order to allow manual operation of the door. Furthermore, because the servomotor has built-in control logic, no separate digital control logic is required. Because the position of the servomotor is continuously maintained, the relative position of the door with respect to a fully opened or fully closed position is always known, and no separate external signal is required in order to monitor the door position.Type: GrantFiled: July 15, 2019Date of Patent: September 14, 2021Assignee: Vengeance Creek, LLCInventors: William McNabb, Jeffrey McNabb

Patent number: 10167661Abstract: A garage door opener system includes sensor components and actuatable components. When a condition is detected based on sensor output, a responsive action is selected. The actuatable component is controlled to perform the selected responsive action. Accessory sensors and actuatable accessories may be in communication with the garage door system. When the accessories are found to be present by the garage door opener system, and a condition is detected by the accessory sensor, a responsive action is selected and the actuatable accessory is controlled to perform the responsive action. In either case, the responsive actions may be selected based on rules. The responsive actions may be performed by a combination of the actuatable components of the garage door opener system and the actuatable accessories in communication with the garage door opener system.Type: GrantFiled: October 20, 2017Date of Patent: January 1, 2019Assignee: TTI (MACAO COMMERCIAL OFFSHORE) LIMITEDInventors: Michael Preus, William McNabb

Patent number: 10127806Abstract: A modular garage door opener system has an accessory device including a load, and garage door opener including an accessory port for receiving the accessory device. A server receives initial accessory device status and settings data from the garage door opener, stores the data as associated with the accessory port, and sends the data to a peripheral device. The server receives new accessory device status data and sends it to the peripheral device. New settings data is sent by the peripheral device to the server and the server sends it to the garage door opener such that the load of the accessory device is controlled based on the new settings data. Similarly, initial data may be stored and associated with a second accessory port for a second accessory device and a load of the second accessory device is controlled based on new settings data from received from the peripheral device.Type: GrantFiled: April 27, 2018Date of Patent: November 13, 2018Assignee: TTI (MACAO COMMERCIAL OFFSHORE) LIMITEDInventors: William McNabb, Mark Huggins, J. Publication number: 20180151006Abstract: A garage door opener remote control device performs secondary functions (other than opening and closing a garage door). The garage door opener remote control device includes a user input, a wireless communication interface to communicate with a garage door opener, and secondary components including sensory and actuatable components. A processor communicates a user input to the garage door opener to operate a motor configured to drive a garage door. The processor also detects stimuli in a space associated with the remote control device based on sensory data from the secondary sensor, determines a responsive action, and controls the secondary actuatable component or an accessory device of the garage door opener to perform the responsive action. The remote control device may function as a speaker phone or wireless communication device utilizing the secondary components. The secondary components may be connected to vehicle diagnostics and communicate vehicle status to users.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 30, 2017Publication date: May 31, 2018Inventors: Mark Huggins, Michael Preus, William McNabb

Publication number: 20180114427Abstract: A garage door opener system includes an electronic processor, a memory, a network interface, a user interface and various sensors. Condition events that are sensed or received in the garage door opener system are logged to memory as event data reports in instances when the condition logging events occur. The event data reports are transmitted to a remote server upon occurrence of a condition reporting event, which is different from the condition logging event. The condition logging events may include detecting a change in sensor data, detecting a change in data from a component of the garage door opener system, and receiving a request from the user interface. Diagnostic information is generated based on the sensor or component information and transmitted to the remote server.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 20, 2017Publication date: April 26, 2018Inventors: Michael Preus, William McNabb
