    Abstract: A bifurcated stent includes a first stent section and a second stent section. The first stent section is balloon expandable, has an unexpanded configuration, an expanded configuration, and a tubular wall defining a secondary opening. The secondary stent section is self-expanding and an end of the secondary stent section is engaged to a portion of the tubular wall of the primary stent section defining the secondary opening. The secondary stent section has an unexpanded configuration with a first length and an expanded configuration with a second length where the first length is less than the second length. The secondary stent section is expanded to the expanded configuration after the primary stent section is expanded to the expanded configuration. The secondary stent section forms a portion of the tubular wall of the primary stent section in the unexpanded configuration.

    Abstract: Several embodiments of the present invention are generally directed to medical visualization systems that comprise combinations of disposable and resuable components, such as catheters, functional handles, hubs, optical devices, etc. Other embodiments of the present invention are generally directed to features and aspects of an in-vivo visualization system that comprises an endoscope having a working channel through which a catheter having viewing capabilities is routed. The catheter may obtain viewing capabilities by being constructed as a vision catheter or by having a fiberscope or other viewing device selectively routed through one of its channels. The catheter is preferably of the steerable type so that the distal end of the catheter may be steered from its proximal end as it is advanced with the body. Some embodiments of the invention are directed to in-vivo visualization devices and systems comprising user-actuatable control features and steering devices.

    Abstract: An apparatus for deployment of a hemostatic clip comprises a handle assembly, a shaft connected to a distal portion thereof and a clip assembly releasably coupled to a distal portion of the shaft. The clip assembly includes clip arms and a capsule cooperating with the clip arms to provide a first user feedback indicating a decision configuration of the clip assembly. In addition, the apparatus includes a control wire including a ball connector, the control wire extending from the handle assembly and coupled to the clip assembly by the ball connector to maintain the clip assembly coupled to the shaft, wherein the ball connector is detachable from the clip assembly to provide a second user feedback indicating separation of the clip assembly from the shaft.

    Abstract: An anchor-insertion tool for securing an anchor having a suture extending therefrom to a structure within a patient's body is provided. The anchor-insertion tool comprises an elongate shaft having distal and proximal ends, an anchor-receiving tip at the distal end, at least one groove extending from the tip at least partially along the length of the shaft, and at least one depression extending about the circumference of the shaft and intersecting the groove. A loaded anchor-insertion tool is provided, along with a surgical method for employing the anchor-insertion tool. A surgical template and suture retriever are also provided.

    Abstract: An apparatus for cutting a suture is provided. The apparatus comprises a housing having at least one groove therein; and a knife moveable between retracted and extended positions, and positioned within the housing such that the knife passes through the groove as it is moved from the retracted position to the extended position, thereby cutting a suture positioned within the groove. A suture retainer for preventing a suture from escaping the groove prior to the cutting step is also provided. A method of cutting a pair of suture tails extending from a knot is also provided.
