  • Publication number: 20090019823
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to an exhaust filter including an inner cylindrical pleated filter media and an outer cylindrical pleated filter media positioned outside the inner cylindrical pleated filter media. The inner and outer cylindrical pleated filter media are separated by an annular gap. The inner cylindrical pleated filter media has a shorter length than the outer cylindrical pleated filter media. The exhaust filter also include a first end cover in which first ends of the inner and outer cylindrical pleated filter media are secured, a second end cover in which a second end of the outer cylindrical pleated filter media is secured, and an interior end cap in which a second end of the inner cylindrical pleated filter media is secured. The exhaust filter further includes an inlet stub secured to the second end cover. The exhaust filter can be mounted in an outer housing having a compression gasket sealing arrangement for providing a seal about the inlet stub of the exhaust filter.

  • Patent number: 6852141
Abstract: A core construction for use in a filter element includes a tubular member having a wall with opposite first and second ends. The first end is adaptable for engagement with structure, such as a frame utilized with a filter element. The second end is also engageable with external structure, such as a handle. Preferably, a filter element is constructed by rolling a media construction around the core construction. The media construction includes a corrugated sheet secured to a flat sheet rolled around the core construction into a coiled construction. The coiled construction has inlet flutes and outlet flutes. Methods for using and assembling filter elements preferably use core constructions as described herein.
