  • Patent number: 9663318
Abstract: A noise dampened re-drive assembly for an imaging device. The re-drive assembly includes a two position, pivotally mounted diverter gate that is driven by a reversible motor coupled to a sector gear fixedly mounted to the diverter gate. A slot is provided in the sector gear with a stop pin positioned in the slot. An end of the slot strikes the stop pin as the diverter gate reaches one of its positions. A cantilevered mounted T-shaped dampener having a dampening finger at each of its free ends is mounts in the slot. As the end of the slot nears the stop pin when the diverter gate approaches one of its two positions, the dampening finger adjacent thereto engages the stop pin and reduces the acoustical impulse of the slot end striking the stop pin. A pair of dampeners mounted in a mirror image fashion may be provided in the slot.

  • Publication number: 20170146964
Abstract: Identifying errors with home HVAC systems and notifying the homeowner of the error and potential remedial steps can be useful. In some embodiments, a method is provided including receiving, at an electronic device, a temperature value and an airflow value from sensors located at a vent grate of the HVAC system. A temperature delta value can be calculated using the temperature value and an ambient temperature value. The temperature delta value can be compared with predetermined temperature delta threshold value. The airflow value can be compared with predetermined airflow threshold value. Based on comparing the temperature delta value step and/or the comparing the airflow value step, an error with the HVAC system can be identified. A notification of the error and subsequent potential remedial steps can be sent from the electronic device to the homeowner.

  • Publication number: 20170134037
Abstract: An Interleaved Radio Frequency Digital-to-Analog Converter (RF DAC) suitable for use in cellular base stations and optimized to give both a wide RF tuning range and a wide RF bandwidth is disclosed. The RF DAC uses two levels of interleaving, the first providing a direct conversion path from Base Band (BB) to RF, and the second providing a variable interleaving factor through the use of summation to optimize the output bandwidth as a function of the RF center frequency. Digital Interpolation, including an arbitrary sample rate conversion filter, allows the RF DAC to operate from a wide range of possible BB sample rates and the DAC sample rate is a fixed ratio of the RF center frequency. As a result, the spurious outputs from the RF DAC are in known locations that are relatively easy to filter out, minimizing the frequency planning tasks required for a complete RF system design.

  • Patent number: 9647997
Abstract: Systems and methods for implementing a Transport I/O system are described. Network encrypted content may be received by a device. The device may provide the network encrypted content to a secure processor, such as, for example, a smart card. The secure processor obtains a network control word that may be used to decrypt the network encrypted content. The secure processor may decrypt the network encrypted content to produce clear content. In embodiments, the secure processor may then use a local control word to generate locally encrypted content specific to the device. The device may then receive the locally encrypted content from the secure processor and proceed to decrypt the locally encrypted content using a shared local encryption key. The secure processor may connect to the device via a standard connection, such as via a USB 3.0 connector.

  • Patent number: 9621724
Abstract: Customer service calls to media service providers are addressed by remotely monitoring and diagnosing the customer's installed equipment. Such remote diagnosis decreases the need for assistance from customer service representatives and on-site repair technicians. In a method of operating a customer service routing system for a media service provider, subscriber equipment is first identified and then data specific to the subscriber equipment is collected. Relevant data can be maintained as an equipment health history in a database that is updated periodically by automatic monitoring. The database can be located within a remote server. Equipment data can be extracted automatically and relayed directly to the subscriber, thereby bypassing interaction with a customer service representative.

  • Patent number: 9616102
Abstract: Analogs of ShK toxin and methods for using such ShK analogs. The ShK analogs generally comprise ShK toxin attached to a chemical entity (e.g. an atom, molecule, group, residue, compound, moiety, etc.) that has an anionic charge. In some embodiments the chemical entity attached to the ShK toxin may comprise an amino acid residue. The ShK analogs may be administered to human or non-human animal subjects to cause inhibition of potassium channels or to otherwise treat diseases or disorders. In some embodiments, the chemical entity to which the ShK toxin is attached may be chosen to provide selective inhibition of certain potassium channels (e.g., Kv1.3 channels) over other potassium channels (e.g., Kv1.1 channels). In come embodiments, the chemical entity to which the ShK toxin is attached may include a fluorophore, thereby providing a fluorophore tagged ShK analog.
