Publication number: 20240399025Abstract: Methods of making an enhanced bioactive PRP implant include supplying a centrifuge container with a collagen-based scaffold pre-inserted onto a moveable filter within the vial. A centrifuge process for creating the PRP implant is followed, resulting in a PRP/collagen implant combination. Other biologics may be added to the container instead of or in addition to the collagen-based scaffold. Additionally, methods of fixing the PRP implant into place at the point of a tear or wound include applying the PRP implant adjacent to or within a meniscal tear, or underneath or on top of a rotator cuff tear. Suture or staples may then be routed either through or over the PRP implant to hold the implant in place.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 28, 2024Publication date: December 5, 2024Applicant: Smith & Nephew, Inc.Inventors: Nehal N. Patent number: 7854226Abstract: A powder inhaler includes a container for storing powdered medicament. A metering member has a dosing recess and is moveable between a filling position in which the dosing recess is in alignment with an opening of the container, and an inhalation position in which it is in alignment with an inhalation channel. A mouthpiece is in communication with the inhalation channel for enabling inhalation of the dose of powdered medicament when in the inhalation position. A protective member provided between the metering member and the inhalation channel is moveable between a closed position in which the protective member covers the dosing recess, thereby preventing powdered medicament contained in the dosing recess from entering the inhalation channel, and an open position in which the protective member does not cover the dosing recess, thereby exposing the dosing recess to the inhalation channel for enabling inhalation of the dose of the powdered medicament.Type: GrantFiled: April 20, 2006Date of Patent: December 21, 2010Assignee: Chiesi Farmaceutici S.p.A.Inventors: John Pinon, Sameer Shirgaonkar, Christopher James Smith, Simon Burge, Max William Middleton, David Ahern, Matthew Neil Sarkar, Ben Arlett, Emma Lesley Lye, Simon Smith

Patent number: 7399002Abstract: A cryogenic seal for vacuum-insulated pipe systems where the pipe system includes an inner pipe connected to an outer pipe by a bellows. The seal prevents cryogenic liquid from leaking from the inner pipe into the annular vacuum space between the inner and outer pipes in the event of bellows failure. One end of the bellows is connected to the inner pipe by a movable bellows ring and the other end of the bellows is attached to the outer pipe by a fixed bellows ring. A bellows guide is attached to the fixed bellows ring and receives the movable bellows ring in a sliding fashion. The seal may be positioned between the movable bellows ring and the bellows guide or between the fixed bellows ring and the outer surface of the inner pipe. The seal may also be positioned between the bellows shield and the movable bellows ring. The seal may be a leak control ring or the packed gland type.Type: GrantFiled: July 20, 2005Date of Patent: July 15, 2008Assignee: Chart Industries, Inc.Inventors: Stuart Motew, David McWilliams, Douglas Ducote, William Middleton, John Bonn
