    Abstract: An irrigation system broadly comprising a number of irrigation spans and a control system configured to operate single speed drive motors of the irrigation spans in a start-up mode, full speed mode, and wind-down mode. In the start-up mode, the motor controller gradually increases the drive motor speed from 0 rpms to a full speed by ramping a voltage applied to the drive motor from a starting voltage to a full speed voltage according to a start-up voltage profile over a start-up time interval. In the full speed mode, the motor controller operates the drive motor at a full speed voltage. In the wind-down mode, the motor controller gradually decreases the drive motor speed from full speed to 0 rpms by ramping the voltage applied to the drive motor from the full speed voltage to an ending voltage according to a wind-down voltage profile over a wind-down time interval.

The world relative field of view is configured to follow motion of the user (e.g., movement of the user's head or mobile phone) within the environment to support navigation to different locations within the environment. The fixed relative field of view is configured to remain fixed during this navigation such that digital content disposed in this field of view remains at that relative location to a user's field of view.

    Abstract: A lateral move irrigation system more effectively irrigates a field by minimizing the portions of the field that receive no irrigation. The irrigation system includes a plurality of mobile towers, a plurality of elongated support structures attached to and extending between the towers, and a fluid delivery system. Each mobile tower has wheels and a motor for driving the wheels. A safety circuit stops the motors on all the mobile towers when any of the towers reaches an end-of-run position. Location determining components determine locations of the mobile towers as they traverse a field, and a control system stops or slows any of the towers before they trigger the safety circuit so that lagging mobile tower may catch up before the safety circuit shuts down or reverses all the motors.

    Abstract: Apparatus and methods for occluding hollow body structures, such as blood vessels, and for attaching tissue layers together by providing implantable elements on opposite sides of the structure or tissue layers and drawing the implants together to occlude the body structure and/or bring the tissue layers together. The implants are deliverable in a low-profile configuration and self-expand to an enlarged configuration. The implantable elements are delivered by transfixing the body structure, then releasing the implants on opposite sides of the anatomical structure to urge the layers together to effect an occlusion or attachment. The implants are configured to apply oppositely directed forces to opposite surfaces of the tissue layers at alternate, circumferentially spaced locations and may constrain the tissue in a serpentine pattern or in a direct clamping pattern. The implants grip the tissue in a manner that defines a pressure zone about the transfixion aperture that prevents leakage from the aperture.

    Abstract: A torque motor includes a large area rotor, a stator surrounding at least a portion of the rotor, and a small air gap separating the rotor from the stator to allow frictionless thermal coupling between the rotor and the stator. Heat from the rotor is transferred to the stator by conduction. The stator contacts an inner surface for a housing of the torque motor for conductively coupling to a cold environment air flow exterior to the torque motor housing. The air gap may have a dimension of about 0.002 to 0.003 inches. The stator may be conductively coupled to the torque motor housing by one of a thermal gap pad or high conductivity thermal gap filling compound. Heat conduction from the rotor to the stator preferably occurs without rotation of the rotor.

The hydraulic circuits can be used, for example, on blowout preventers in a subsea environment.

    Abstract: There is disclosed an enclosure and cooling system for electronic equipment that provides forced-air cooling of multiple compartmentalized electronics assemblies while simultaneously isolating the electronics assemblies from the ambient environment, keeping the electronics assemblies free from contamination due to harmful dust, dirt, water, corrosives, and other airborne foreign matter. Embodiments include an air-conduction cooled environmentally-sealed electronics enclosure having at least first and second environmentally-sealed electronics compartments, each containing a respective electronic assembly. A common-air cooling channel containing a fin core is disposed between the first and the second electronics compartments, such that ambient air drawn from an air intake, through the common channel, and out an air exhaust removes heat generated by the electronic assemblies within the sealed compartments to an exterior of the enclosure.
