Patent number: 11800942Abstract: Methods, apparatuses, and computer program products for a heated body pillow are described. The pillow may receive, from a user device, one or more commands for adjusting an operating temperature of a heating element located inside an outer covering of the pillow. A power cord coupled to the heating element may be at least partially enclosed by a tubular shroud external to and coupled to the outer covering. The pillow may adjust the operating temperature of the heating element based on receiving the one or more commands.Type: GrantFiled: October 17, 2022Date of Patent: October 31, 2023Inventor: Scott William Milne

Patent number: 10904386Abstract: A caller queue system and process for a video call-in system. The system includes a waiting room server that connects to a plurality of caller devices over a network. The waiting room server may provide content to the plurality of video caller devices and collects input received from the plurality of video caller devices. A queue managing module connected to the waiting room server prioritizes or sorts the plurality of video caller devices in a queue based on the input received from the plurality of video caller devices. Patent number: 9465012Abstract: Provided is a method for measurement of a change in environment at a sensor. The sensor has: a first layer formed of a piezoelectric material; a second layer formed adjacent the first layer and acoustically coupled with the first layer; and electrodes disposed to apply a driving signal to the first layer to generate bulk acoustic waves. The temperature coefficient of frequency of the first layer is different to that of the second layer. In the method, a first layer resonant frequency associated with the first layer and a combination resonant frequency associated with a combination of the first and second layers are detected. A shift in one or both of the first layer resonant frequency and the combination resonant frequency is detected. A portion of the shift caused by a temperature change at the sensor is identified. Another portion of the shift caused by an environmental change at the sensor other than the temperature change is identified.Type: GrantFiled: December 14, 2012Date of Patent: October 11, 2016Assignee: Cambridge Enterprise Limited & University of BoltonInventors: Andrew Flewitt, William Milne, Luis Garcia-Gancedo, Jack Luo

Patent number: 7303012Abstract: Propped fractures in formations from which fluids are produced are described that have wormholes extending out into the formations from the faces of the fractures at locations distant from boreholes. Methods are given for creating such propped fractures having wormholes in which either a closed propped fracture is formed and then the wormholes are formed, or the entire fracture and channel system is formed before the closure occurs.Type: GrantFiled: November 30, 2006Date of Patent: December 4, 2007Assignee: Schlumberger Technology CorporationInventors: Keng S. Chan, J. Ernest Brown, Arthur William Milne, Brett Rimmer, Mark Brady

Patent number: 6157310Abstract: The present invention provides a monitoring system (30) for monitoring operation of dynamic plant apparatus (10, 100). Electronic processing means (31, 32, 33) is provided for processing the electrical parameter signals provided by sensors (11-15) and is capable of thereby producing a plurality of different fault signals. Display means (34) is provided for displaying fault information to a user of the monitoring system (30), the display means (34) being controlled by the fault signals produced by the electronic processing means (31, 32, 33). The electronic processing means (31, 32, 33) compares the values of at least some of the measured parameter signals with limit values stored in memory by the electronic processing means (31, 32, 33) and when the comparison shows that the value of a measured parameter signal is outside the respective limit value the electronic processing means (31, 32, 33) produces a respective basic fault token signal.Type: GrantFiled: September 10, 1999Date of Patent: December 5, 2000Assignee: Intelligent Applications LimitedInventors: Robert William Milne, Charles Jarvis Nicol

Patent number: 6116339Abstract: A running/setting tool for packers is disclosed which can release in several different ways. The tool can be pumped through for normal release. The tool may be hydraulically released by dropping and pumping a ball to a seat and subsequent pressurizing. A frangible member is provided so that if circulation is impeded, it can be established by breaking the frangible member to allow a ball to be pumped to a seat. Finally, a shear release technique is provided which allows release by breaking a shear pin or shear ring or other frangible member, which unsupports collets to allow for removal. A support shoulder is provided on the tool to prevent the collets from becoming stressed on the trip out of the hole if the tool encounters a collar or other internal obstruction.Type: GrantFiled: October 3, 1997Date of Patent: September 12, 2000Assignee: Baker Hughes IncorporatedInventors: John Robert William Milne, Chris Caton, George Milne Lorgen
