  • Publication number: 20250227331
Abstract: A television device configured to receive both broadcast channel data and meta data including the identity of what content or instructions should be played or initiated by the television device when the consumer selects a certain channel among a plurality of broadcast channels. The meta data is configured to command a full screen takeover, the playing of a video from a video streaming server when the certain channel is selected and a command instructing the television device to commence the download of an auto-downloadable application program. The auto-downloadable application program may then be configured to be used for delivering at least one of interactive features, controls, transaction capabilities and personalisation functions with controls and iconography appearing following the real-time playback of the video streamed from the video streaming server.

  • Patent number: 11146513
Abstract: Various embodiments disclose an in-message application facilitating the use of third-party application programming interfaces (APIs). In particular, these in-message applications (referred to as “cards”) may be designed by a developer to access third-party API functionality. A user may then create a message referencing, e.g., a web address associated with the developer's card. The system may receive the user's message and recognize the reference. The system may then distribute an instantiation of the card to various recipients, the instantiation including elements generated using, or providing the user access to, the third party functionality.

  • Patent number: 10750561
Abstract: The present invention provides a user equipment for use in a cellular network and a method for initiating a radio link abandonment in user equipment in advance of a radio link failure. The present invention includes establishing and maintaining a communication connection between the user equipment and a cellular network via a serving cell base station in support of a data flow via a radio link. The availability of other potential serving cell base stations including the availability of preferred potential serving cell base stations is then monitored. At least one of an uplink condition and a downlink condition of the data flow via the radio link are then monitored. Based upon the determined at least one of the uplink condition and the downlink condition, any impending degradation of the radio link is then predicted. When an impending degradation of the radio link is predicted, and a preferred potential serving cell base station is available, the radio link is abandoned prior to a radio link failure.
