  • Patent number: 11743308
Abstract: The method for storing streaming media includes receiving, from a user device, a request to navigate to a requested time of a media stream. The method also includes determining whether a block of media segments that have a time interval that overlaps with the requested time is stored at the server. The method also includes retrieving the block of media segments from long-term memory in accordance with a determination that the block of media segments is not stored at the server. The method also includes traversing the block of media segments that have a time interval that overlaps with the requested time of the media stream to seek and identify a media segment corresponding to the requested time of the media stream. The method also includes streaming a media stream to the user device that begins at the media segment corresponding to the requested time of the media stream.

  • Patent number: 10320977
Abstract: Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a method in which a device comprising a processor detects a communication session between a calling device and a called device, and receives a motion signal from the called device; the motion signal is generated at a motion sensor of the called device during or after the communication session. The device analyzes the motion signal to determine whether a portion of the motion signal corresponds to a preselected motion of the called device and whether a subsequent call from the calling device accordingly is to be blocked. Responsive to a determination that the subsequent call is to be blocked, the device also updates a list of blocked caller identifiers associated with the called device to add an identifier associated with the calling device. Other embodiments are disclosed.

  • Patent number: 9622061
Abstract: An enhanced wireless home phone (WHP) component for use in an emergency call service network is presented herein. A method can include in response to determining that address information representing an address corresponding to a subscriber identity associated with a wireless service has been included in a data store corresponding to an emergency telecommunication service, determining whether a location of a wireless communication device associated with the subscriber identity satisfies a defined condition with respect to a distance of the wireless communication device from the address; and in response to determining that the location of the wireless communication device satisfies the defined condition, and in response to determining that a communication corresponding to the emergency telecommunication service has been received from the wireless communication device, sending the address information directed to a public safety answering point device.
