  • Patent number: 11919220
Abstract: Systems and methods of indicating to a line worker when there is a defective zipper profile extruded onto a generally flat plastic web while moving in a feed direction in a re-sealable container production line. The system includes a sensor for detecting the defective zipper profile and a web distortion device that actuates in response to the sensor detecting the defect. The web distortion device keeps the web bunched together while it spools onto a roll support device located downstream thereby making it readily apparent to a line worker that the bunched segment contains the defective segment.

  • Publication number: 20070197210
Abstract: Reducing the peak-to-average power ratio of a signal comprises receiving the input signal, where the input signal is associated with at least one unacceptable frequency range. The input signal is clipped about an amplitude range to yield a clipped signal and clipped information, where the clipped information represents intermodulation products. The clipped information is filtered to yield an error signal. The error signal represents a subset of the intermodulation products, where an intermodulation product of the subset corresponds to the unacceptable frequency range. The error signal is subtracted from the input signal to yield an output signal.

  • Publication number: 20050242515
Abstract: A dry gas seal for turbo machinery and the like includes a rotating shoulder and mating stationary face seal forming a seal between an associated shaft and outer housing. The shoulder is supported in a segmented holder having a machined shroud in which the shoulder is retained, and a rotor mounted on the shaft and detachably connected with the shroud to facilitate machining the shroud when disassembled from the rotor. The face seal is supported in a segmented housing having a machined first member mounted in the stationary outer housing and retaining an inside portion of the face seal, and a second member retaining an outside portion of the face seal and being detachably connected with the first member to facilitate machining the first member when disassembled from the second member.

  • Patent number: 6229858
Abstract: A noise estimator for threshold correction of a receiver includes a low pass filter to remove wideband noise from an input signal that includes a signal component and a noise component. The output of the wideband filter is applied to a square-law power detector having an output applied to an envelope detector. The output of the envelope detector is the instantaneous envelope of the input signal and is applied to a low pass filter to perform time averaging and is also applied to a differential network. The output of the low pass filter is a signal representing a time averaged statistical envelope representing the statistical mean of the instantaneous envelope of the input signal. This signal is also applied to the differential network that generates a signal representing the difference in the instantaneous envelope of the input signal and the time averaged statistical envelope signal. This difference signal is applied to a square-law power detector and then to a low pass filter for time averaging.

  • Patent number: 5743426
Abstract: A plastic reusable packing and shipping container having an inside lid pocket for computer readable instructions. Toothed lid corners engaged toothed container body corners to form a tight seal. The lid may be hinged to the container's body and the interfacing edges and teeth covered by an adhesive sealing tape. Once, the original container is not longer usable, it can be melted down and recycled into a different sized, shaped, or both, container for a variety of different uses.
