  • Publication number: 20080047084
Abstract: A combination paint roller (20) and paint roller cleaner (10) for extracting excess paint off of a paint roller sleeve. The paint roller cleaner includes a handgrip (11), an elongated rod (12), and a sleeve engaging portion defined by a generally circular loop (13) defining an internal opening. The paint roller includes a handle (21), a roller frame (22), and a roller sleeve (23). The roller sleeve has a tubular, cylindrical hollow core (24), having a select external diameter, surrounded by a tubular, cylindrical, resilient, paint absorbing matt (25) having a select external diameter. The internal diameter of the loop is larger than the external diameter of the roller core but smaller than the external diameter of the roller matt.

  • Publication number: 20060064836
Abstract: A tool for pushing excess paint or other liquid sources off of a paint roller sleeve without having to remove the sleeve. The tool comprises a handgrip, an elongated rod and a generally circular loop formed as a single, unitary piece of a straight section of rod. Disposed away from the handgrip, the loop, is slip fitted over the sleeve of the roller. Excess paint can be removed by inserting the sleeve in the circular section of the tool. This can be done while holding the paint roller in one hand and the cleaning tool in the other hand and then the tool is slipped over the sleeve The tool can either be slipped over the open end of the roller or over the frame of the roller or the of the roller can be inserted through a narrow gap defined by the loop and with a forward and aft motion, the excess paint is then squeezed from the sleeve and with forward and aft motion the excess paint is squeezed from the sleeve.

  • Publication number: 20050054021
Abstract: The invention provides a method of diagnosing or predicting susceptibility to a clinical subtype of Crohn's disease in a subject having Crohn's disease by determining the presence or absence of IgA anti-I2 antibodies in the subject, where the presence of the IgA anti-I2 antibodies indicates that the subject has a clinical subtype of Crohn's disease. In one embodiment, a method of the invention is practiced by further determining the presence or absence in the subject of a NOD2 variant, anti-Saccharomyces cerevisiae antibodies (ASCA), IgA anti-OmpC antibodies, or perinuclear anti-neutrophil cytoplasmic antibodies (pANCA). The methods of the invention can be used to diagnose or predict susceptibility to a clinical subtype of Crohn's disease, for example, a fibrostenotic subtype, a subtype characterized by the need for small bowel surgery, or a subtype characterized by the absence of features of ulcerative colitis.
