  • Patent number: 7808752
Abstract: A method for implementing an inductor-capacitor filter in an integrated circuit. Embodiments of the invention implement a 5-pole LC low-pass filter suitable for incorporation in wireless applications necessitating compact layouts. Inductors are formed in an IC as concentric coils on metallization layers, the concentric coils providing a negative coupling coefficient between the inductors. The invention provides programmable frequency response characteristics, enabling the transmission of high-frequency base band information while attenuating carrier RF frequencies.

  • Publication number: 20100068373
Abstract: Equipment to extract excess sugar from fruit juice using a centrifuge containing reusable sugar absorbing materials is presented. A method comprising repeatedly performing successive extraction and cleaning cycles on successive portions of juice is also presented. The method's extraction cycle involves extracting the sugar from the juice. The cleaning cycle includes removing the extracted sugar from the sugar absorbing material with hot and cold water, and both cycles include removing all the liquid out of the centrifuge by introducing an inert gas under pressure into the centrifuge at the end of each respective cycle.

  • Patent number: 6822507
Abstract: An adaptive speech filter (10) for conditioning speech signals to increase signal to noise ratio in a relatively noisy environment. The adaptive speech filter (10) has a preamp circuit (12), a high pass adaptive filter circuit (14), an output buffer circuit (16), a peak detector amplifier/filter circuit (18), a peak detector circuit (20) and a voltage regulator circuit (22), embodied in an application specific integrated circuit (24). The adaptive speech filter (10) is intended for input to telephones, radios, and the like.

  • Patent number: 6681022
Abstract: The two-way communication earpiece is a small, inconspicious, and comfortable earpiece which fits behind the ear for sound delivery and pickup. The earpiece may be used with a variety of communication devices, such as telephones, cellular telephones, two-way radios, radios, tape players, CD players, and televisions. The earpiece is configured to be received behind the ear of a user with a sound delivery tube extending from behind the ear into the ear canal of the user. An eartip positioned on the sound delivery tube is preferably a non-occluding type eartip which allows ambient sound to enter the ear canal around the eartip. A microphone is positioned on the earpiece above the ear for voice pickup.

  • Patent number: 5365355
Abstract: A back plate structure for a reflective type active matrix liquid crystal display and methods for forming the same, is described. The structure includes an array of reflective electrodes for selectively altering the molecular alignment of liquid crystal material confined above each of the reflective electrodes and an array of light shields spatially offset with the array of reflective electrodes so that the light shields block light passing through portions of gaps formed between adjacent reflective electrodes. Each of the reflective electrodes also has a corresponding light shield which is electrically connected to that reflective electrode so that the liquid crystal material confined above portions of the gaps between adjacent reflective materials can also be altered by the electrically connected light shields.
