  • Patent number: 5302671
Abstract: A moisture-curable silicone composition, suitable for use as a coating or pressure-sensitive adhesive, is disclosed, said composition comprising (i) a hydroxyl-functional organopolysiloxane resin comprising R.sub.3 SiO.sub.1/2 siloxane units and SiO.sub.4/2 siloxane units in a molar ratio of 0.5/1 to 1.2/1. respectively, wherein R is a hydrocarbon or halogenated hydrocarbon radical: (ii) a diorganopolysiloxane polymer having at least two silicon-bonded alkoxy groups and at least one carbon-bonded amine group in its molecule, said polymer having a viscosity at 25.degree. C. of 20 to 100,000 centipoise, the weight ratio of said resin to said polymer being in the range 20:80 to 80:20; (iii) optionally, a hydrolyzable silane in sufficient amount to provide stability to said composition; and (iv) optionally, sufficient catalyst to accelerate the cure of said composition.

  • Patent number: 5153293
Abstract: An improved process is provided for the preparation of siloxane-oxyalkylene block copolymer surfactant compositions which utilize a hydrosilylation reaction with a monocarboxylate ester of an alkanediol as the reaction solvent. The reaction solvent need not be removed from the block copolymer, particularly when the block copolymer is used as a surfactant for polyurethane foam formulations. 2,2,4-trimethyl-1,3-pentanediol monoisobutyrate is the preferred reaction solvent.

  • Patent number: 4918210
    Abstract: A zwitterionic composition useful as a surface active agent in aqueous solutions. Said composition represented by the general formulaR'(CH.sub.3).sub.2 Si--O[SiO(CH.sub.3).sub.2 ].sub.w [SiCH.sub.3 R--O].sub.x Si(CH.sub.3).sub.2 R'where w is 0, to 50, x is 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5, R' denotes a methyl radical or an R radical, x +w is less than or equal to 50 and R denoted a monovalent zwitterionic radical of the general formula--(CH.sub.2).sub.y N.sup.+ (R").sub.2 (CH.sub.2).sub.z SO.sub.3.sup.-where y is 1, 2 or 3, z is 3 or 4, and R" denotes an alkyl radical with 1 to 6 carbon atoms.

  • Patent number: 4125470
Abstract: Band-ply lubricant concentrates are disclosed which are useful in the preparation of both solvent and water based formulations. Unexpected advantages of greater formulation latitude and product stability have been found. The concentrates consist of (A) an alkylene oxide polymer, (B) unique siloxane copolymer dispersing agents, (C) a polydimethylsiloxane fluid, and in some instances (D) mica or talc.
