Publication number: 20230329520Abstract: A dishwasher appliance includes a metal rack. A housing and a cover on a side of the metal rack define a housing chamber. Within the housing chamber, one or more rotatable cams are present. Each cam includes a magnet within the cam and pivots about a shaft. Each cam may rotate from a passive position to a retaining position as a result of lifting of the metal rack, which attracts the magnet in each cam, pulling the cam into position. The rack is then lowered onto a retaining surface of each cam, the cam supporting the rack in the raised position.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 14, 2022Publication date: October 19, 2023Inventor: William Nathan Garnett

Patent number: 9526399Abstract: A roller assembly for an appliance such as e.g., a rack assembly of a dishwashing appliance is provided. The roller assembly is connected to e.g., the rack of the appliance. The roller assembly includes a roller that is carried upon a primary axle into which a secondary axle is received. One or more such rollers can be used with each roller assembly. The construction can provide improved strength over conventional designs such as e.g., where the roller is directly connected to a wire member. Certain embodiments can also provide aesthetic benefits in that the rollers can be partially or completely hidden depending upon the viewing angle.Type: GrantFiled: May 14, 2012Date of Patent: December 27, 2016Assignee: Haier US Appliance Solutions, Inc.Inventors: William Nathan Garnett, Daniel J. Hart, Aaron Matthew McDaniel, Craig Barclay Curtis
