  • Patent number: 6932747
Abstract: An exercise device has a pair of handle portions that are connected by a pair of connection portions to form an annular body. The pair of connection portions have a flattened cross-section that provides a rotation bias towards a rest configuration. The rotational bias of the pair of connection portions enables a twisting exercise that is useful for strengthening the hands and forearms of a user.

  • Patent number: 6481729
Abstract: A foldable scooter, that can be folded from an assembled configuration to a compact configuration, has a head tube attached to a front end, the head tube being shaped to rotatably accept a steering column attached to a yoke, the yoke rotatably mounting a front wheel. At least one strut is pivotally attached to the yoke. A handlebar stem, having a handlebar at an upper end and a cap receiving portion at a lower end, is attached to a mounting bracket that is slidably mounted upon at least one strut, enabling the handlebar stem to slide between a lowered position in which the cap receiving portion operatively engages the steering cap, and a raised position in which the cap receiving portion is lifted clear of the steering cap.

  • Patent number: 5466042
Abstract: A seat post with an offset of a bicycle includes a tube member. A clamp base is attached to the tube member. A lower clamp is disposed to the clamp base. An upper clamp is disposed to the lower clamp. An adjusting mechanism includes a first bolt member and a second bolt member. The first bolt member further includes a plurality of projected ribs at its outer wall. A spur wheel having a center hole is mounted on the outer wall ribs of the first bolt member and is rotatably disposed inside the clamp base. The second bolt member is disposed opposite to the first bolt member. By this arrangement, the upper clamp member and the lower clamp member are jointly fastened to the clamp base by the first and the second bolt members and an adjustment can be made easily by the help of the spur wheel.

  • Patent number: 5281003
Abstract: A bottom bracket axle assembly for a pedal powered vehicle provides an axle that includes a spindle at each end for engaging a pedal crank arm. Each spindle includes a bearing support for mounting the axle in a bottom bracket tube having cup-mounted bearings on each end thereof. The axle includes a hollow enlarged diameter central section that may be formed from a seamless tube. Both outer and inner diameters of the central section are greater than an outer diameter of each spindle outward of its bearing supports and the outer diameter of the central section may be sized so that it substantially equals the inner diameter of the cups and bottom bracket. In this instance, a clearance is provided between the inner diameter of the cups and outer diameter of the central section so that free rotation may occur therebetween.

  • Patent number: 5205185
Abstract: A handlebar with integral bar ends provides an elongate tubular member having opposing segments proximate a central region thereof. The segments each have an outer diameter sufficient for affixing a conventional control base thereto. Disposed outwardly of each of the segments is a respective relatively transverse end segment. In particular, the end segment may be angled at 70.degree. relative to a longitudinal axis of each of the segments. The outer diameter of the end segment is sized so that, in conjunction with a predetermined radius of curvature for a bend between each end segment and segment, the control base may be moved between the end segment and the segment without interference. The outer diameter of each end segment may be 20 millimeters while the radius of curvature of the bend may be 55 millimeters.

  • Patent number: 5197349
Abstract: A handlebar stem provides a cylindrical quill tube having a hollow upper end and a lower end adapted to be placed snugly within a steering tube. The lower end has press fit thereon an insert having an external portion with an outer diameter substantially equal to that of the quill tube. The lower edge of each of the insert and quill tube are cut such that it defines an ovular plane through both the insert and quill tube. The lower end engages flushly with a similarly cut expander bolt having a cylindrical outer surface of substantially similar outer diameter to that of the quill tube and insert. The expander bolt is axially joined to the insert by means of a screw placed through the insert and into a threaded hole in the expander bolt with the head of the screw abutting an uppermost surface of the insert within the quill tube.
