    Abstract: In a gun sight an objective lens system 4 is designed to produce a larger than normal image and the eye-piece 6 is designed to be adjusted so as to view different parts of the image. This allows the gunner to view features which are significantly off-axis without interfering with the bore-sighting of the gun.
