Abstract: A method and apparatus for managing clinical protocols and/or computer interpretable guidelines includes receiving workflow data and patient data for a plurality of patients. The workflow data includes a sequence of care steps performed on each of the patients. The patient data includes clinical data collected from each patient. The patient data as of the time each of the plurality of care steps was performed on each of the patients is tracked. Once of the previous care steps for one of the patients is selected which cause at least a portion of the sequence of care steps and the patient data as of the time of the selected care step for the selected patient to be displayed.

The update message includes patient data and identifies a computer interpretable guideline (CIG) instance corresponding to a patient of the patient data. The CIG instance is updated (804) using the patient data and one or more CIG recommendations are determined (806) based on the updated CIG instance. The CIG recommendations are communicated (808) to a second group of one or more clinical devices over the communications network (504). Also disclosed, a narrative guideline is received from a guideline publisher and/or business entity (102) over a communications network (104). The narrative guideline is transformed to a computer represented guideline (CRG) abstractly representing the narrative guideline on the basis of usage. The translation includes linking text fragments in the narrative guideline to instantiated language constructs.

Abstract: An apparatus for establishing dynamic ground contact is disclosed. A ground contact tip is attached to one end of an elongate member. The ground contact tip contains a connecting portion and a base portion that is opposite the connecting portion. A flexible core connects between the base portion and the connecting portion. At least one limiting ring is positioned on the flexible core. The elongate member is permitted to rotate through a range of angles while the flexible core allows the base portion to remain flat against the ground. At the maximum allowable angle, the limiting rings allow the ground contact tip to cease flexing and become rigid, so that the user can push against the ground at an angle, while the base portion remains flat against the ground.

Also, a method of calibrating a device for heat treatment of the substrates, with the device including a positioner for providing the substrates on a retention support in the furnace. The positioner includes a memory unit that stores positioning parameters, and an actuator for positioning the substrate on the support according to the positioning parameters. The method includes positioning a test substrate on the support in a starting position according to starting parameters, determining a centered position for the test substrate, determining centering parameters corresponding to the centered position of the test substrate and storing the centering parameters in the memory unit.

The fuel for the closed loop combustion generator is regenerated by the solar panel from its exhaust when the solar panel is generating sufficient power.

Abstract: A system and method is disclosed for queuing and presenting audio messages in a communication system comprising an audio controller and audio message computer software. The audio controller receives overlapping audio messages that have portions that have been simultaneously received by the audio controller. The audio controller separately stores the audio messages in a queue in an audio buffer and then sequentially plays the messages. The audio controller may delay playing an audio message for a predetermined period of time or until the audio controller receives a control signal from a user. The user may select an audio message to be played from a list that displays the names of the senders of the audio messages. The audio controller may obtain a timestamp from a video program and associate an audio message to be played with the video program.
