Abstract: A luggage device having fully recessed legs that may be selectively engaged to translate and pivot about an axis to facilitate controlled movement from a fully recessed storage position to an operative position for conveniently transporting large heavy objects within the luggage. The fully recessed translation biased cantilever leg luggage device includes a dextral leg recess for receiving a dextral leg, and a sinistral leg recess for receiving a sinistral leg. Each leg recess has an engagement region, a storage region, and a pivot. Additionally, the engagement region includes a leg engagement region storage location, a leg engagement region operative location, and a leg engagement region transition region; through which a portion of the leg pivots about the axis and transitions from the fully recessed storage position to an operative position.

The back-up battery compartment is capable of holding a battery having sufficient power to power the electronic circuitry present in the device. The back-up battery may be connected to the electronic circuitry within the electronic device via an electronic or manual switch.

Abstract: A wheeled extendable support for long travel cases. When long travel cases are balanced on one corner, a handle on the upper end is too high for ease of use. With this invention, the case is tilted to an angle of 45 degrees or less off the ground and the invented support which has wheels at the bottom is extended from the case to carry a portion of the weight, allowing the handle at the top of the case to be used at a comfortable height. The wheeled support may be built in or added on to a case. The extendable support includes a locking mechanism. The extendable support may be folded upward or downward when collapsed.
