Abstract: Modular transfer units are configured to transport bins or other storage units of standard shapes and sizes between locations. The modular transfer units may be loaded with bins or other storage units having items disposed therein at origins of the items, or at locations where the items are stored, such as fulfillment centers. The modular transfer units may then be mounted to one or more vehicles, such as trailers or rail cars, and transported to another location, where the modular transfer units may be removed from the vehicle, or transferred to another vehicle. The bins or other storage units may be loaded with items that are intended for delivery to a common location. After a bin or storage unit has been unloaded from a modular transfer unit, one or more other bins or storage units may be loaded thereon.

Abstract: A collapsible shelving unit includes a front frame and a rear frame. A pair of opposed side walls are each hingeably connected to the front frame and to the rear frame. A plurality of shelves supported between the side walls. The side walls may each include a plurality of side panels hingeably connected to one another. The plurality of side panels may be capable of pivoting inward such that the side walls move inward toward one another as the shelving unit is being collapsed.

The wall structure is of double thickness and comprises a lower wall portion adjacent the floor and a plurality of integrally formed contoured upper wall portions extending upward from the lower wall portion. The wall structure is hollow throughout allowing the contoured upper wall portions to be received within the lower wall portion of a crate nested thereabove. The contoured upper wall portions are tapered to be smaller in cross section at the top and larger near the lower wall portion to enable easy nesting and to avoid nested crates from becoming wedged together due to interference. The upper wall portions are in the shape of gear teeth that are spaced along the opposing sidewalls and endwalls of the crate.

Abstract: Vent structures are provided on the upper and lower sides, and lid of an organic waste cart so that wet biomass deposited in the cart is dried by convective air currents passing through the cart. The lid vent is hooded to prevent moisture from passing into the biomass. A perforated false bottom within the cart elevates the biomass above the lower vents to assure that drying air can circulated throughout the biomass.
