  • Publication number: 20260049189
Abstract: Overmolded thermoplastic articles include a base component comprising rigid thermoplastic material and an overmold component comprising recovered thermoplastic elastomer material. The recovered thermoplastic elastomer material includes, based on weight of the recovered thermoplastic elastomer material, greater than or equal to about 97 wt % of antecedent thermoplastic elastomer material and less than or equal to about 3 wt % of antecedent rigid thermoplastic material. The recovered thermoplastic elastomer material is obtained from an antecedent separation process in which the antecedent thermoplastic elastomer material is separated from at least a portion of the antecedent rigid thermoplastic material.

  • Publication number: 20240059887
Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure are directed to polymer blends comprising thermoplastic elastomer and 4 wt % to 50 wt % of cross-linked silane grafted polyolefin. The thermoplastic elastomer comprises a Shore A hardness from 0 to 80 as measured in accordance with ASTM D2240 and a compression set greater than or equal to 80% as measured in accordance with ASTM D395 at 125 C. The cross-linked silane grafted polyolefin comprises a compression set less than or equal to 70% as measured in accordance with ASTM D395 at 125 C.

  • Publication number: 20140088221
Abstract: A thermoplastic elastomer compound of an acrylic-containing styrenic block copolymer and plasticizer oil have been found to be capable of sintering at a temperature ranging from about 180 C to about 200 C when the copolymer and the oil are in no more than a 2:1 weight ratio. The compound can be used in rotomolding or slush-molding equipment to make plastic articles having elastomeric properties.
