  • Patent number: 4768661
Abstract: A binning and banding structure, binning partition and novel clips to secure binning and banding partitions to each other. The clips include a first U-shaped clamp having arms capable of gripping the vertical edge of a binning partition and a second U-shaped clamp integral with the first U-shaped clamp capable of sliding into engagement with the top edge of the banding partition. The arms on the first U-shaped clamp include means engageable with means on the binning partition for limited sliding vertical movement of the clip on the binning partition and for inhibiting horizontal longitudinal movement of the clip on the binning partition.

  • Patent number: 4624431
Abstract: A clip adapted for mounting a hanger arm to a crossbar that comprises a vertical wall, a substantially horizontal lip integral with the vertical wall at its base extending forwardly from the vertical wall a pair of walls integral with said vertical wall extending forwardly along the vertical edges and downwardly from adjacent the top edge of the vertical wall, the pair of walls being shorter in length than the length of the vertical wall, the pair of walls being provided with a first pair of substantially horizontal stop members integral with the pair of walls and extending laterally from the pair of walls, the pair of walls being further provided with a second pair of substantially horizontal stop members integral with the pair of walls and extending laterally adjacent the upper end of the pair of walls.

  • Patent number: 4593824
Abstract: An extruded or injection molded, resilient resin tag holder comprises a planar member with a pair of parallel flanges projecting transversely from the rear face and a rib projecting from at least one flange toward the other. The flanges are spread apart to snap the rib over and firmly grip the transversely bent end portion of a support rod with the shaft of the rod passing through a notch in the rib. A plurality of notches spaced along the rib provide selective lateral positioning of the tag holder relative to the support rod shaft. The end of the flanges beyond the rib bear against the rod shaft to prevent rotation of the tag holder about the transversely bent end portion of the rod. One embodiment includes a second notched rib spaced from the first by an amount which may be selectively used to accommodate a support rod of larger cross-section.

  • Patent number: 4395955
Abstract: Merchandise display area banding members are disclosed for use in providing partial frontal banding. The banding members are made of plastic and can function individually as either a left or right handed partial banding section or in combination with each other by means of a tongue and groove configuration to form an elongated center partition partial banding section. Channels defined on both sides of the banding member engage a vertical slot in a partition and inhibit lateral movement relative thereto.

  • Patent number: 4365725
Abstract: A market basket is provided with a U-shaped handle having outwardly projecting locking tabs. The locking tabs, each comprised of a support bar and a locking bar, are slidably and rotatably received in vertical slots in the side walls of the basket. With the locking tab at the bottom of the side wall slots, the handle is freely rotatable. When the handle is lifted upwardly while in the vertical position, each of the locking bar enters into and engages a second vertical slot provided by a locking block to prevent the handle from rotating, the locking block being located on a flange which depends downwardly from an outwardly extending lateral rim on the upper edge of the basket. In an alternate embodiment, the support bar has cross arms forming a cruciform cross sectional shape which engage the correspondingly shaped top of the sidewall slot providing three support points and additional handle locking action.

  • Patent number: 4319731
Abstract: An improved information display assembly with a cantilevered arm and a detachable means for displaying indicia at the free end of the arm is disclosed. The free end of the arm has a horizontal member extending therefrom at a right angle. There is a transverse groove on the upper surface of the arm. This groove is on the free end of the arm and is parallel with the horizontal member. The detachable display means mounts onto this horizontal member and arm. This display means has a planar member with a front face upon which indicia is displayed and a rear face from which extend two parallel arms with a flange extending from the free end of the upper arm. When the display means is mounted on the cantilevered arm, the parallel arms are contiguous with the upper and lower surfaces of the cantilevered arm and horizontal member and the flange engages the transverse groove.

  • Patent number: 4286764
Abstract: A tag support member is mounted in a vertical bore in a hanger bracket behind the vertical bore in which a horizontally disposed hanger is resiliently mounted in a centered position such that the tag support member is cantilevered outward above the hanger. The bracket may be mounted on a perforated board or clipped onto a flat, horizontally disposed support bar set on edge. In the latter case, a projection on the lower rear edge of the bracket snaps over the support bar to firmly lock the bracket in place. Hangers may be disposed in opposite directions from a horizontal bar by a pair of hanger brackets mounted back to back with a clip in between for engaging the bar.

  • Patent number: 4215789
Abstract: A merchandise basket is provided with a U-shaped handle with a pair of legs straddling the sides of the basket and terminating in opposed, inwardly directed feet. Necked portions of the feet slidably and rotatably engage slots in the side walls of the basket. With the feet at the bottom of the slots, the handle is freely rotatable; but when the handle is lifted while in the vertical position, the sides of the feet engage notches in a flange which depends from an outwardly directed rim on the basket to preclude rotation of the handle.
