Abstract: A method and apparatus for disassembling a set top box is disclosed. The method includes providing the set top box including: a top cover, a base, and cover retention clips, wherein the cover retention clips are V or U shaped for securing the top cover to the base, providing a release fixture including a retention clip release finger, inserting the release fixture into the set top box, disengaging the cover retention clips using the retention clip release finger, and removing the top cover from the base.

Abstract: A method, data processing system, and computer program product for locating people. A mobile data processing system identifies a number of degrees of separation from a requestor for use in searching for the people. The mobile data processing system searches a network data processing system for data structures that contain information about associations between the people that are within the number of degrees of separation from the requestor to generate an initial group of people. The mobile network data processing system identifies a group of people from the initial group of people that are within a geographic location based on a location of the mobile data processing system and a portion of the group of people who are online. The mobile data processing system displays the portion of the group of people on a display device for the mobile data processing system.

Abstract: A method for verifying a target attribute of a company profile record for a procurement application. It is ascertained that a database stores the company profile record including the target attribute and a validity attribute associated with the target attribute. The validity attribute has a VALID or INVALID value respectively indicating that the target attribute in the company profile record has a valid or invalid value within the database. It is insured that the database stores a first and second user profile record, that a first user of a requisition transaction corresponds to the first user profile record, that the first user profile record includes the target attribute having a value identical to a value of the target attribute of a first company profile record associated with a first company represented by the first user, and that the validity attribute of the first company profile record has the VALID value.

Abstract: A beverage making machine having a cartridge holder with an upper portion movable in pivotal and/or linear ways relative to a lower portion. An actuator for the cartridge portion may include a handle-actuated spur gear and link to move the upper portion, which may be guided in movement via a cam and cam follower engagement. Information from a cartridge detector may be used based on movement of cartridge holder portions, e.g., as an upper portion moves from an open position to a closed position. A mixing chamber may be held by a drawer so as to be removable, and movement of the drawer may engage/disengage the mixing chamber from a fluid supply.

Abstract: A lighting device for a bicycle comprising at least one light emitter and a controller programmed to vary the brightness and/or flash rate and/or flashing pattern of the at least one light emitter based upon the measurement of the motion of the device. The controller may be provided with sensor means to measure one or more of the acceleration, orientation and rate of change of orientation of the device, wherein the controller compares the measured acceleration, orientation and/or rate of change of orientation with reference data contained in predetermined look-up tables to determine a risk score, the controller selecting the brightness and/or flash rate and/or flashing pattern of the at least one light emitter as a function of the risk score.

Abstract: A beverage making machine may include a cartridge holder to hold a cartridge used to form a beverage. The cartridge holder may include a lower portion arranged to receive and hold the cartridge and a movable upper portion arranged to clamp the cartridge in place. The cartridge holder may be arranged to hold upper and lower compartments of the cartridge in spaces having a different pressure, e.g., an upper compartment of the cartridge may be held under relatively high pressure, and a lower compartment may be held in a space at ambient pressure. The cartridge holder may pierce upper and/or lower compartments of the cartridge to introduce activating fluid and/or receive carbonating gas from the upper compartment, and/or to introduced pressurized air into the lower compartment to force beverage medium to exit.

Abstract: A floating vessel having a hull, at least one thruster tube, at least one water moving device and at least one power supply in the thruster tube. At least one appendage partially surrounds the thruster tube and encircles the thruster tube from 30 percent to 40. A plurality of supports secures the at least one appendage to the hull. At least one fairing plate is installed between a tangent of the appendage and the hull for following a circumference of the thruster tube and encircling the thruster tube from 30 percent to 40 percent, wherein the fairing plate is configured to transition water flow from the hull over the appendage and into the thruster tube to reduce water turbulent flow across an opening of the thruster tube.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for opening and closing a cartridge holder of a beverage forming machine. The cartridge holder may have an opening arranged to receive and hold a cartridge with the cartridge holder. The opening may be adjustable in size and/or shape to allow the cartridge holder to receive and engage with cartridges of different size and/or shape. The cartridge holder may include one or more movable portions that are adjustable in position to effectively adjust a size and/or shape of the opening.

Abstract: A stent graft is provided which has two stent sections having different functions on, for example, a tubular graft. One stent section preferably comprises a plurality of circumferential reinforcing hoops and the other a Z-stent. The two sections are preferably separated by a spacer section and the tubular graft preferably increases in diameter from the Z-stent section to the hooped section. This enables the stent graft to be compressed radially so that it can be inserted in a catheter for later delivery to a body lumen.

Abstract: A magnetic gear arrangement is provided comprising a first gear member for generating a first magnetic field and a second gear member for generating a second magnetic field. A coupling element is disposed between the first and second gear members and provides arrangements of interpoles which couple the first and second magnetic fields. The coupling element comprises a plurality of magnetisable lamellae, each interpole in an arrangement of interpoles being formed from a group of neighboring lamellae. Selected lamellae are deactivatable to provide boundaries between adjacent interpoles. This allows different numbers and arrangements of interpoles to be formed, so as to provide different gear ratios between the first and second gear members.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method, system and computer program product of managing and sharing entries into a webpage are presented. The computer-implemented method receives an input to an input box located in a first webpage on a first network. This input is analyzed to determine its subject matter, and is then migrated into an appropriate subject box on the webpage. In one embodiment, the input is then shared with another webpage, for the same user, which is on a second network.

The company profile record has a validity attribute, and the requisition object record has a validity flag, to indicate validities of the value for the target attribute in respective record. A company profile configuration module configures the company profile record. A user profile verification module prohibits a user without a valid user profile from accessing the procurement application. A user profile cleanup program removes invalid user profile records from the database. A requisition object verification module checks out valid values for the company_code attribute from the company profile records and blocks modification to invalid requisition objects.

The application generation method includes generating and storing a transparency software application comprising multiple application software code. The application implementation method includes retrieving by the transparency software application, personal data and an address associated a point of interest associated with a user. The two dimensional mapping application is enabled and a geographical map and selections for relevant healthcare service providers specified on the geographical map are received. The transparency software application retrieves ratings and feedback data and a selection for filter criteria. The filter criteria and subsequent filter criteria are evaluated and in response a report indicating results of the evaluation is generated and stored.

Abstract: There is provided a method for routing a plurality of signals in a processor array, the processor array comprising a plurality of processor elements interconnected by a network of switches, each signal having a respective source processor element and at least one destination processor element in the processor array, the method comprising (i) identifying a signal from the plurality of unrouted signals to route; (ii) identifying a candidate route from the source processor element to the destination processor element, the candidate route using a first plurality of switches; (iii) evaluating the candidate route by determining whether there are offset values that allow the signal to be routed through the first plurality of switches; and (iv) attempting to route the signal using one of the offset values identified in step (iii).

Abstract: Data is transmitted from a sending processor over a network to one or more receiving processor in a forward direction during an allocated slot, and acknowledge signals are sent in a reverse direction during the same allocated slot, to indicate whether the receiving processor is able to receive data If one or more of the receiving processors indicates that it is unable to receive the data, the data is retransmitted during the next allocated slot. This means that the sending processor is able to determine within the slot period whether a retransmission is necessary, but that the slot period only needs to be long enough for one-way communication.
