  • Publication number: 20040242972
Abstract: Method, system and computer product for prognosis of a medical disorder. In one embodiment, a request to provide prognosis decision support for the patient is received. Medical data relevant to the patient such as longitudinal medical data is extracted. Predictive modeling techniques relevant to the patient from the longitudinal medical data are derived. The predictive modeling techniques are then used to predict a clinical outcome for the patient from the medical data. The predictive modeling techniques are formulated using data mining techniques that are capable of detecting correlations in repeated measurements associated with the longitudinal medical data. The predictive modeling techniques then utilize the correlations for determining the medical prognosis for the patient.

  • Publication number: 20030023641
Abstract: An authoring tool can be used by an author, who may or may not have programming experience, to create complex input forms for the Internet. The authoring tool provides visual components that permit an author to build both the layout and functionality of the input form without writing any programming code. The author can select an input field to be inserted in the input form from a list of input types. The author can then customize the visual layout and appearance of the input fields and can incorporate dynamic behavior into the input form by associating events, actions and error checking with each input field. The authoring tool also provides a preview frame that interactively shows the author the appearance of the input form, as the author is building the input form. Finally, once the author is satisfied with the input form that is being created, the author can use the authoring tool to generate a file or web page that is executable on the client side by any web browser.

  • Publication number: 20020116637
Abstract: A gateway for securely connecting arbitrary devices and service providers. A request handler receives activity requests from a device and a service provider. An authenticator and access authorizer permit the device and service provider to interact with each other. An activity manager manages the activities between the device and the service provider. A response component forwards the response to either the service provider or the device. The gateway device is suitable for use in remote monitoring and diagnostics of industrial and commercial equipment as well with the monitoring and maintenance of consumer products.

  • Publication number: 20020078103
Abstract: A development kit is used to provide an environment for creating, testing and deploying web-based applications, which is geared towards non-programmers. The development kit includes an authoring utility and an application server. The authoring utility includes tools for web application authors to design, implement, test and deploy their web-based application. The authors can create their applications using the authoring utility and then deploy the applications to the application server. The application server can interface with a web server to execute the applications built with the authoring utility. The interface of the application server and the web server can permit end users to access the applications on the application server with a web browser.
