  • Patent number: 11956855
Abstract: A system enables a home operator to establish an automated monitoring process which identifies outage events on competitor wireless networks (e.g., peer operators) operating in the same geographies as home operator. The home operator then is able to selectively offer, in near real-time, to open roaming to the peer operator, or implement roaming automatically based on predefined and mutually agreed upon rule sets. The monitoring process may observe non-customer attach request volumes in order to identify outage events on competitor wireless networks.

  • Patent number: 11920814
Abstract: A method of controlling an agricultural facility for housing a plurality of animals includes the step of regulating the environment within the agricultural facility with an automated building operational system. An automated thermal event controller is operationally coupled with the automated building operational system and generates a thermal event signal in response to a thermal event in progress, whereby the automated thermal event controller, upon receipt of the thermal event signal indicating that the thermal event is in progress, activates an alarm state. In the alarm state, the automated thermal event controller: sends an alarm signal to a system administrator; places the automated building operational system in a safety-mode condition for a first predetermined time interval; and places the automated building operational system in a normal-mode operational condition after the first predetermined time interval and if a confirmatory signal is not yet then received from the system administrator.

  • Patent number: 10734149
Abstract: A method of operating an electro-permanent magnet may include switching the electro-permanent magnet from an on state wherein magnetic fields of switching and permanent magnets combine to generate a first magnetic field having a first magnitude and a first polarity to a reversed state having a second polarity wherein magnetic fields of the switching magnets and the permanent magnets combine to generate a second magnetic field having a second magnitude less than the first magnitude and a second polarity different than the first polarity. The electro-permanent magnet may be switched from the reversed state to an off state wherein magnetic fields of the switching and permanent magnets combine to generate a third magnetic field having a magnitude that is no more than 50 percent of the second magnitude. Related electro-permanent magnets are also discussed.

  • Publication number: 20200223668
Abstract: The invention relates to a kibble tipping arrangement, which is used in a mining operation where a kibble (12) is vertically displaceable along a kibble displacement path to transport excavated material is a vertical mine shaft to the surface. The kibble tipping arrangement includes at least one catch (24) which is transversely displaceable between a non-interference position in which the catch does not interfere with the kibble (12) in the kibble displacement path and an interference position in which the catch (24) is capable of being engaged by an engagement formation (28) on the kibble (12) to allow the kibble (12) to top and the excavated material to be dumped from the kibble (12). The kibble tipping arrangement further includes kibble alignment means, which consist of a locator and a positioner, for aligning the kibble's engagement formation (28) with the catch (24).
