    Abstract: A smoke detector system with a first DC power supply and a second DC power supply connected to at least one smoke detector wherein the first DC power supply may be powered by an AC power input and the second DC power supply may be a battery is disclosed. The smoke detectors may be powered primarily by the first DC power supply during normal operations. The second DC power supply may be configured to supply power to the one or more smoke detectors in the event of the loss of the AC power input to the first power supply.
