  • Patent number: 5452599
Abstract: Expanding apparatus and method for sizing a one-piece drop-center wheel rim having first and second ganged arrays of rim sizing die segments insertable into the rim from one side thereof, and a third array of rim sizing die segments insertable into the opposite side of the rim, all three arrays cooperating to form a complete array of die segments for expansion sizing of the rim. A single wedge mechanism moves the arrays radially outwardly to individually size the inboard bead seat, outboard bead seat and drop-center well zones of the rim in response to relative coaxial movement of the wedge and arrays in a rim expansion working stroke along a longitudinal axis of the wedge. The wedge includes an expansion cone mechanism comprising first, second and third cone cams respectively individually operably associated with the first, second and third die arrays for radially expanding the same in such working stroke.

  • Patent number: 4320521
Abstract: A data bus transceiver reduces self-induced noise by using trapezoidal drive waveforms. A differential receiver stage of the transceiver has a threshold voltage matched to the midpoint voltage of the drive waveform to reduce distortion, and a low-pass filter matched to the slew rate of the drive waveform to reduce noise while causing minimum progation delay. The transceiver has been integrated using back-to-back junction capacitors in the driver and filter circuits and these capacitors have been biased to reduce their variation in capacitance as a function of the voltage applied across them.

  • Patent number: 3978343
Abstract: In a common package, a light emitter, which is responsive to an input signal, produces an output optical signal which is coupled through an optically transmissive electrical insulator to a principal photodetector disposed in stray capacitive coupled relation to the light emitter for detecting the optical signal to produce an output signal in response thereto. A dummy photodetector, which has similar electrical characteristics to that of the principal photodetector except that it is rendered nonresponsive to the output optical signal is similarly coupled in stray capacitive relation to the light emitter to derive a dummy output signal. The dummy signal together with the principal output signal are fed to the differential input terminals of a differential amplifier which takes the difference of the two signals, thereby cancelling common mode signal components capacitively coupled to said photodetector and producing an amplified output signal.
