  • Patent number: 4853987
Abstract: A unitized hydrotherapy jet and pump assembly includes a housing having a mouth portion connected to and communicating through the wall of a hot tub, spa, bathtub, whirlpool or pool with the interior of the tub below the water line. In the mouth of the jet and pump assembly is a hydrotherapy jet nozzle outlet and a water inlet positioned adjacent to each other. A water pump within the assembly communicates between the water inlet and the jet outlet. A motor is connected to the pump to energize the pump for drawing water into the unit through the water inlet and expelling a stream of water back into the tub through the hydrotherapy jet.

  • Patent number: 4596656
Abstract: A hydrotherapy return fitting is described composed of a fitting body with a waterflow passge through it that is connected to a water circulation pump. The return fitting is suitably held within an opening bored in the wall of the tub or spa and a removable decorative liner or cover of tubular shape is provided within the interior of the fitting. It has a circular peripherally extending flange which covers portions of the fitting in the interior of the tub. A manually removable screen is provided inside the decorative liner and a handle is provided on the screen so that it can be easily grasped. A suction relief valve communicates between the atmosphere and the passage through the water return fitting to permit air to enter when the return fitting is plugged breaking the suction and allowing the object to be removed.

  • Patent number: 4502168
Abstract: A hydrotherapy jet is described in which a nozzle is mounted for universal swiveling motion so that it can be positioned to direct a stream of water and air in any selected direction. Water and air enter through pipes positioned at right angles to one another, the water inlet pipe is positioned at right angles to the center axis of the hydrotherapy jet and nozzle axis. The air inlet pipe is aligned with the hydrotherapy jet axis and the nozzle axis so that the hydrotherapy jet can be rotated on its own central axis within an opening in a tub wall to facilitate the plumbing in the connection of water supply pipes without changing the position of the air supply pipe.

  • Patent number: 4422191
Abstract: A hydrotherapy jet is described in which a nozzle is mounted for universal swiveling motion. Water and air enter through concentric pipes to provide an outer annular water vortex, an inner water vortex and an intermediate air lamina. The water vortices strike one another with considerable force vigorously incorporating air from the intermediate air lamina.

  • Patent number: 4349434
Abstract: The invention provides a filtration system suited to be coupled in a water transfer circuit with a tub, pool, spa, or the like, and includes a housing or casing within which is provided a filter element through which the water passes during operation. In one preferred embodiment, a heater is provided within the housing. The heater comprises an electrical heating element positioned within the center opening of an annular filter element. A pump and motor can be connected to the housing in a water transfer circuit. A strainer for removing hair, lint, or the like is preferably provided within the circuit upstream from the pump, that is to say, between the inlet of the pump and the spa or tub. The strainer can be located within the filter housing adjacent to and in fluid communication with the filter and between the filter and a removable cover releasably secured to the housing.
