    Abstract: A sleeve for protecting from deterioration and anchoring an embedded end of a post in the ground. The sleeve, molded from unperforated, resilient material, conforms to the exterior post dimensions and extends for at least the desired embedment distance. One or more inwardly projecting notches are cut into the post. The sleeve includes one or more reversible snap domes molded into the sleeve at locations coinciding with the post notches. The snap domes flex to an outwardly concave position as the post is being inserted into the sleeve and then snap to an inwardly concave position once the post is fully installed and the snap domes align with the notches. The inward concavity of the snap domes extends into and engages the post notches to prevent the sleeve from being removed from the post. When embedded into the ground, backfill material prevents the snap dome from being deflected into the outward concavity position, thus anchoring both post and sleeve in the ground.

    Abstract: An anchor device having a plurality of teeth protruding from planar surfaces configured for placement adjacent to the post. The teeth may be forced into the wood to secure the anchor in position until the post embedment is completed. The anchor comprises a first portion that protrudes from the surface of the post to engage with backfill, typically concrete, to resist post uplift once the backfill cures. A second portion of the anchor is secured to the side surfaces of the post adjacent to the end of the post that is to be embedded and extends beyond the end of the post. When the anchor is installed and the post inserted into a hole, the second portion of the anchor elevates the end of the post from the bottom of the post hole so that concrete backfill may flow beneath the post to form a suitable post foundation.

    Abstract: An improved anchor for degradation-resistant treated posts or posts protected with a conforming, protective cover that resists uplift or pull-out forces of a predetermined value without compromising the integrity of the treatment or protective cover. At least one indentation is applied to a portion of the post embedded in the ground prior to applying a conforming, protective cover or the other material degradation-resistant treatment. The indentation is configured such that the protective cover will conform to the contour of the indentation when the protective cover is applied to the post. In posts relying on degradation-resistant treatments, the indentation is applied prior to treatment so that the integrity of the treatment is not compromised by the indentation.

    Abstract: An electrical cable connector is disclosed for connecting a plurality of electrical conductors to a printed circuit board. The cable connector includes a cable socket connector having a plurality of female insulation displacement contacts which can be mated with male signal-carrying pins contained in a pin shroud on a printed circuit board. The cable socket connector is comprised of a hood which retains two or more wafers. Each wafer contains a plurality of insulation displacement contacts. The cable socket connector may include a latch for securing the cable socket connector to the pin shroud and shielding to prevent extraneous signals from being transmitted into the circuits on the printed circuit board through the cable connector. The cable connector also includes an arrangement for keying the cable socket connector to the pin shroud to control the location of insertion of the cable socket connector into the pin shroud.

    Abstract: An electrolytic toroidal tilt sensing device for electrical coupling to a measuring circuit, wherein the measuring circuit is responsive to the device and adapted to provide an output signal indicative of the tilting and direction of tilting associated with the device, includes: an electrolytic fluid; a housing body having a channel formed therein for containing the electrolytic fluid, the housing body serving as a common electrode when coupled to the measuring circuit; and a cover plate having two working electrodes with at least one electrode serving as a working electrode when coupled to an appropriate measuring circuit, the cover plate being to hermetically fitted in the channel of the housing body such that the cover plate and the housing body form a chamber wherein at least one electrode is at least partially immersed in the electrolytic fluid contained within the chamber.
