  • Patent number: 5346083
Abstract: To permit a container and a cap to remate with each other during resealing without fouling by solid debris such as small particles without exceptional preparations to withstand the deteriorating effects of corrosive materials and solvents and to consistently and quickly form a gas-tight seal, the container has a flat angled surface and the cap has cooperating edge that engages the flat surface in a closed line when the cap is fully inserted with a solid closed surface within the line, the closed line having a width perpendicular to its length within a range of 0.5 millimeters to 1.5 millimeters. The cap is closed by screw threads or the like that force the cooperating surfaces together with a pressure of at least 100 psi at an angle of between 75 degrees and 105 degrees.

  • Patent number: 4373460
Abstract: A combination of a thread carrying upper looper and a thread carrying lower looper which along with a thread carrying needle cooperate together in an overedge industrial sewing machine in which the thread carrying upper looper has its thread carrying groove located closer to the bottom edge of the blade face than to the upper edge of the blade face and has its point located above the thread carrying groove and is closer to the upper edge than to the lower edge. The blade of the thread carrying lower looper has a generally flat bottom surface having a 2.degree. rise starting 3/8" from its point and extending to the point.

  • Patent number: 4352590
Abstract: An erodible marine or fluviatile sediment such as a sedimentary layer is stabilized by depositing on the sediment a non-setting paste-like slurry, for example, mud or clay containing a framework of gravel, using a laying head which is towed over the sea bed by a surface vessel. The slurry is mixed on the vessel and conveyed to the laying head through an underwater pipe. Distribution of the slurry from the laying head may be monitored by a television camera on the head.
