Patent number: 11564357Abstract: In embodiments, acquiring sensor data associated with a plant growing in a field, and analyzing the sensor data to extract one or more phenotypic traits associated with the plant from the sensor data. Indexing the one or more phenotypic traits to one or both of an identifier of the plant or a virtual representation of a part of the plant, and determining one or more plant insights based on the one or more phenotypic traits, wherein the one or more plant insights includes information about one or more of a health, a yield, a planting, a growth, a harvest, a management, a performance, and a state of the plant. One or more of the health, yield, planting, growth, harvest, management, performance, and the state of the plant are included in a plant insights report that is generated.Type: GrantFiled: November 2, 2020Date of Patent: January 31, 2023Assignee: X Development LLCInventors: William R. Patent number: 10393942Abstract: A color shifting illuminator includes a first luminescent material that absorbs first incident photons having an energy greater than or equal to a first threshold energy, and emits first photons with less energy than the first incident photons. The color shifting illuminator also includes a second luminescent material that absorbs second incident photons having an energy greater than or equal to a second threshold energy, and emits second photons with less energy than the second incident photons and less energy than the first photons. The first luminescent material and the second luminescent material are included in a waveguide, and the waveguide exhibits total internal reflection for the first photons and the second photons satisfying conditions for total internal reflection. An extraction region is coupled to the waveguide to emit the first photons and the second photons.Type: GrantFiled: September 27, 2018Date of Patent: August 27, 2019Assignee: X Development LLCInventors: Mitchell Heinrich, Martin F. Publication number: 20110200787Abstract: Disclosed is a method of preparing a support structure suitable for use, e.g., in microscopic studies, comprising a free standing atomically thin film (e.g. graphene) suspended across an opening in the support structure. The method in one aspect comprises the steps of preparing a thin film which is an atomically thin film (e.g., graphene) on a surface of a solid substrate to form a graphene-layered substrate; attaching the graphene layer to a hole-containing support mesh; removing the solid support, thereby transferring the graphene layer from the substrate to the carbonaceous hole-containing layer on the support mesh; and then removing contaminants to obtain said structure. In another aspect, the present method does not involve a transfer, but comprises a lithography and etching process in which the atomically thin layer is applied to a support which is marked with a lithographic pattern and selectively etched, leaving the free standing film.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 25, 2011Publication date: August 18, 2011Applicant: THE REGENTS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIAInventors: William R.
