Publication number: 20100240302Abstract: A wireless FM repeater system for converting the audio signal from a portable audio source (e.g., iPod, MP3 player, a cell phone or satellite radio, etc.) and transmitting it to the FM tuner of a vehicle stereo system where access to a hard-wired input jack does not exist. The system includes a transmitter, coupled to the audio source, that transmits the audio source signals at a high frequency (e.g., 902-928 MHz, 2.4-2.483 GHz, 434/868 MHz) to a repeater located adjacent the vehicle's audio system antenna and wherein the repeater downconverts, without demodulation, the high frequency carrier and includes an FM transmitter that transmits the audio source signal, in compliance with government regulations, to the vehicle's audio FM system, via the vehicle's FM antenna, without signal degradation.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 20, 2009Publication date: September 23, 2010Applicant: L.S. Patent number: 6016108Abstract: A device for optimizing antenna operation comprises a wireless control signal detector for detecting a wireless control signal generated by a remote control unit, and a microprocessor operatively connected to the detector. The microprocessor is programmed to analyze the wireless control signal during a learning operation to determine a coding format of the wireless control signal and to analyze the wireless control signal during a normal use operation to determine a broadcast channel or station selected by a user. The device additionally comprises a plurality of tuning elements operatively connectable to an antenna for tuning the antenna, and a plurality of switching circuits operatively connected to the tuning elements and to the microprocessor. The switching circuits are operable to selectively couple the tuning elements to the antenna, in response to signals from the microprocessor, thereby optimizing signal reception by the antenna for a channel or station selection encoded in the wireless control signal.Type: GrantFiled: January 19, 1998Date of Patent: January 18, 2000Assignee: Terk Technologies CorporationInventors: Neil D. Patent number: 5946343Abstract: This invention discloses a digital wireless speaker system for use in consumer audio applications. A digital radio frequency transmitter is connected to an analog or digital audio source and a digital radio frequency receiver provides for reception of the transmitted audio information in remote locations. In addition, the digital receiver will be able to receive control information to implement such things as volume, tone controls, or other auxiliary information. This allows the user to listen to high quality audio in a variety of locations without the need of independent stereos or external wires. The system is based on digital circuitry to improve the performance of the system and provide for compact disc quality sound. The digital circuitry incorporates forward error correction techniques and interleaving to enable the system to account for errors in transmission and thus improve the overall performance of the system.Type: GrantFiled: April 24, 1998Date of Patent: August 31, 1999Assignee: L. S. Research, Inc.Inventors: Larry Schotz, William R. Steinike, Mark R. Wolski
