Publication number: 20130244235Abstract: The present invention provides methods and materials related to the detection of colorectal neoplasia (CRN) associated with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). The present invention provides markers specific for colorectal neoplasia associated with inflammatory bowel disease in or associated with a subject's stool sample. In particular, the present invention provides methods and materials for identifying mammals (e.g., humans) having colorectal neoplasia associated with inflammatory bowel disease by detecting the presence and level of indicators of colorectal neoplasia such as, for example, epigenetic alterations (e.g., DNA methylation) (e.g., CpG methylation) (e.g., CpG methylation in coding or regulatory regions of BMP3, NDRG4, vimentin, EYA4) in DNA from a stool sample obtained from the mammal.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 22, 2013Publication date: September 19, 2013Applicant: Mayo Foundation for Medical Education and ResearchInventors: David A. Patent number: 7624106Abstract: A method and apparatus to generate information representing differences between two data sets are described. Information representing differences between a first data set and a second data set is acquired, where the first and second data sets each include multiple nodes. A traversal map that identifies nodes for which a difference has been detected between the first and second data sets is generated, and then during an output phase, a hierarchy of nodes is traversed to generate output indicating user-level differences between the first and second data sets. The traversal map is used to avoid traversing at least some of the nodes in the hierarchy during the output phase. A child map may be generated to represent parent-child relationships between the nodes and used during the output phase to prefetch certain nodes in the hierarchy.Type: GrantFiled: September 29, 2004Date of Patent: November 24, 2009Assignee: Network Appliance, Inc.Inventors: Stephen L. Publication number: 20080222129Abstract: Embodiments of the invention provide techniques for processing a database query that allows data values for attributes of a child database record to be inherited from an associated parent record. A hierarchical query function may automatically determine the inheritance of attribute values in queries of hierarchical data. In the case that a query does not retrieve values for all attributes specified in the query, the missing attribute values are determined from higher levels of the hierarchy.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 5, 2007Publication date: September 11, 2008Inventors: Jeffrey G. Patent number: 7181734Abstract: A method for compiling a mapping between a source schema and a target schema is provided. The method comprises multiple passes, including determining source node dependencies, matching hierarchy, and generating code. The method may further comprise initializing node dependency memory prior to determining source node dependencies, and freeing node dependency memory after code generation. The compiler algorithm provides for compiling user-defined functions in the mapping into the compiled representation. Another aspect of the invention provides for generating an XSL code representation of the mapping. Patent number: 5438320Abstract: A motion responsive alarm system including a motion sensor having a housing with a rotatable disk therein, a slot in the disk and a ball bearing in the slot and being loosely confined within an annular chamber in the housing surrounding the disk. The disk contains a plurality of orifices which pass between an LED on one side of the disk and a phototransistor on the other. A signal from the phototransistor is sent to a triggering circuit by interrupting light transfer between the LED and the phototransistor. The circuit includes a novel oscillator having a duty cycle of 10% which drives the LED in the sensor. An alternate state device is coupled to the sensor and the oscillator for generating alternate state outputs only during sensing of motion. A one-shot circuit generates a motion pulse each time motion is sensed. A pulse interval timer and gate determine if the pulses are to be gated to a timer or blocked.Type: GrantFiled: April 9, 1993Date of Patent: August 1, 1995Assignee: Figgie International Inc.Inventor: William R. Patent number: 5410655Abstract: An apparatus for intersystem I/O channel paging. The I/O channel through an I/O channel adapter provides communication between a central processor, an I/O processor, and a shared electronic storage device. The central processor and I/O processor are each enabled for recognizing specific instructions. The intersystem channel may be implemented in the form of a page chain table. Either process is capable of constructing a page chain table in the shared electronic storage device, upon receipt of appropriate instructions. The central processor or I/O processor signals the I/O channel adapter with identification of a page chain table to select. The I/O channel adapter fetches table entries and executes the table. The I/O channel adapter initiates I/O activity upon execution of the table. The I/O channel is not dependent upon the central processor or I/O processor for fetching or executing instructions, rather it acts independent of the processors once the page chain table is created.Type: GrantFiled: September 13, 1994Date of Patent: April 25, 1995Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: James D. Greenfield, Matthew J. Mitchell, Jr., William R. Taylor
