  • Patent number: 12105940
Abstract: A computer system displays a first version of a first user interface that includes first user interface objects displayed concurrently with a first background. The first user interface objects include content from a first plurality of applications. In response to detecting a first input, when the first input includes movement in a first direction, the system replaces display of the first version of the first user interface with a second user interface that includes representations of a second plurality of applications. When the first input includes second movement in a second direction, the system replaces display of the first version of the first user interface with display of a second version of the first user interface that includes second user interface objects displayed with a second background. The second user interface objects correspond to a third plurality of applications and include content from the third plurality of applications.

  • Patent number: 4796639
Abstract: A pulmonary diagnostic apparatus includes a personal computer including a memory for storing expected values, each representing a predicted normal level for a pulmonary function. A parameter limit file stores abnormality limits, each related to one of the expected values. A configuration file contains a plurality of degree of severity labels and numerical breakpoints between severity degrees. Finally, a statement data file contains a plurality of textual statements concerning lung functions and diseases or conditions. The three files are operatively associated with the computer. Lung function measuring equipment also is connected to the computer, whereby measured values are compared with the expected values. Based on the comparison, the computer generates an output identifying certain measured values as abnormal, and the degree of abnormality. Also, appropriate statements from the statement data file are generated as output, based upon the comparison.

  • Patent number: 4136610
Abstract: A portable bale press for tobacco and the like. The press includes a wheeled support and a compression chamber on a pivotable frame on the support. A press head attached to the rod of a hydraulic cylinder is also on the frame and is movable into the compression chamber to form a compressed mass of tobacco in the compression chamber. Power is supplied for driving the press head. The pivotable frame which supports the compression chamber, hydraulic cylinder and press head and is shiftable between an inactive position for transportation of the bale press and an active position where the compression chamber of the press is in position for compression of tobacco. Releasable holding and shifting structure is provided for transferring the frame between positions and holding the frame in the active and inactive positions for tobacco compression and transportation of the bale press respectively.
