  • Publication number: 20120181089
Abstract: An earthen hole drilling device having an elongated tube with first and second ends where a source of vacuum pressure is connected to the first end and shroud is connected to the second end. A waterline is connected to a source of pressurized water at one end and extends into an interior of the shroud through an opening where the line is connected to a nozzle that is angled at 45°. The shroud additionally has at least one opening that allows air induction/conduction through the shroud in order to dislodge material that accumulates within the shroud.

  • Publication number: 20090303828
Abstract: A method and apparatus for filling a pothole has a cleaning system and a mixing system. The cleaning system loosens debris that is removed from the pot pothole prior to filling. The mixing system has an emulsion tank, an aggregate tank, a mixing tank, and an activator tank. The mixing tank is filled with emulsion and aggregate is added based on the weight of the emulsion to form a slurry. The slurry is transported to a static mixer where activator is added, and then the mixture is discharged into a pothole.

  • Patent number: 5887667
Abstract: An earthen hole drilling device has an elongated tube having first and second ends. A source of vacuum pressure is connected to the first end of the tube. A rotary fluid nozzle is attached to the second end of the tube and is adapted to direct a rotary jet of fluid to intersect the space immediately beyond the second end of the tube. An elongated fluid line has first and second ends with the first end thereof being connected to a source of fluid under pressure, such as water, and the second end of the fluid line is connected to the nozzle. The tube normally has a length of five or six feet with handles thereon so as to be manipulated by a single worker. The method of drilling an earthen hole involves the steps of emitting a rotary jet of fluid into the space behind the second end of the tube to moisten and dislodge particles of earth in the earthen hole being created.

  • Patent number: 3935887
Abstract: A stump cutting machine includes a rotatable cutter disc having a plurality of cutter tools on opposite sides thereof, and each of the tools includes a bit holder having half sections for clamping the shank of a bit therebetween in aligned slots formed in the mating clamping faces of the half sections. The channel-shaped slots extend at an angle to the cutter disc and to the clamping faces of the half sections and thus position the bit at an angle to the cutter disc. The bit holder may be turned between two positions 180.degree. apart, and the bit will extend outwardly relative to the disc and inwardly relative to the disc in the other position. A pair of bolts extend through the holder half sections in the disc to connect the two holders on the disc on opposite sides thereof. The effective depth of the slot is less than the thickness of the bit shank to insure clamping action by the bottom walls of the slot when the half sections are drawn tightly together by the bolts.
