  • Patent number: 4825812
Abstract: A device used to pacify horses contained in an enclosed area which, out of boredom, chew on anything within reach. The device preferably consists of a series of elastomer rubber pieces that may rotate on a shaft. Horses are enticed to bite or chew the rubber pieces in the device through scent and their natural curiosity. When a horse plays with the device by chewing or biting, the rubber pieces rotate. The rotation of the rubber pieces plus the associated noise created by movement of the shaft in a supporting slot entertains or amuses the horse, serving as a pacifier to relieve horse boredom and reduce the penchant of horses to chew other objects.
