  • Patent number: 4878696
Abstract: A junction adapter having a hexagonally-shaped central support portion or body is disclosed for use with a conventional plural line clamping assembly. The hexagonal shape of the adapter body provides many advantages over the rectangularly-shaped bodies of prior art junction adapters. Among the advantages are that such adapters can be easily and very economically made from hexagonal bar stock, using conventional automatic screw machines. The use of the hexagonal bar stock results in a junction adapter formed of one piece of metal and thus provides an adapter that does not have any connection joint that can break away. The hexagonal adapter can be oriented in any position and even be slightly misaligned while still being secured firmly within a plural line clamping assembly.Three embodiments of the hexagonally-shaped adapter are disclosed, and each includes a hexagonally-shaped body, two co-axial connection members, and an axially arranged fluid passages through the junction adapter.

  • Patent number: 4539206
Abstract: Novel copper (II) coordination complexes of 3,5-dioxo-pyrazolidine derivatives with dimethylsulphoxide, dimethylformamide, and 1,4-dioxan coordination ligands are described. The complexes are potent anti-inflammatory agents and are usually applied topically in non-aqueous solution, showing good dermal penetration and systemic absorption.

  • Patent number: 4287190
Abstract: Compositions containing neural copper complexes, particularly copper-salicylate complexes having the formula Cu[C.sub.6 H.sub.4 (X)COO].sub.2. Y in which Y represents dimethylsulfoxide, dimethylformamide or an alkanol and in which X is preferably --OH, together with a pharmaceutically acceptable, non-aqueous carrier have been found to have therapeutic activity in the treatment of inflammatory diseases. The compositions have been found particularly suitable for the treatment of arthritis.

  • Patent number: 4252052
Abstract: Method and apparatus for forming a sealed pouch from a paperboard blank having a heat activatable sealing material on a surface thereof. Blanks are received in an initial position above opposed curved forming surfaces and underneath a reciprocating mandrel, with the blank being folded about the mandrel as the mandrel drives the blank in a longitudinal direction between the forming surfaces. Application of heated air activates the heat sealable material, and folding plates fold the longitudinal edges of the blank inwardly to a position where clamping bars can clamp the longitudinal edges together to complete the heat seal. The folding plates and clamping bars withdraw after the heat seal is completed, and the formed pouch is ejected from the mandrel which thereafter reciprocates to its initial position to allow another blank to be inserted above the forming surfaces.
