  • Patent number: 5230507
Abstract: A golf club supporting apparatus is disclosed. The golf club supporting apparatus includes a base member having a lower portion including two spaced apart points contacting the ground and an upper portion connected to a shaft receiver. The shaft receiver includes a notched opening for receiving a shaft of the club being supported. The shaft is placed into the notched opening and a head of the club rests on the ground. The lower portion of the base member and the golf club head rest on the ground such that the golf club shaft is supported in a generally upright position. A clip is provided on the base member for attaching same to the upper rim of a golf bag.The method of using the golf club supporting apparatus includes the steps of inserting the golf club shaft in the notched opening of the supporting apparatus and sliding the golf club tapered shaft down the notched opening until the tapered shaft is firmly engaged by the notched opening.

  • Patent number: 5002696
Abstract: A non-porous, substantially hollow, expanded mineral product, such as expanded perlite, is produced by uniformly and indirectly heating ore for about 1 to 30 seconds in an expansion chamber maintained at about 1400.degree. F.-2100.degree. F. to produce uncoated particles which exhibit superior short term and long term density stability characterics in liquid systems, and which may subsequently be coated to provide enhanced density stability characteristics.

  • Patent number: 4423814
Abstract: A method for the separation of magnesium-bearing ore particles containing an exposed magnesian-rich mineral on the surface from the lean ore particles containing a lesser surface area of the exposed magnesian mineral which comprises conditioning the ore with a coupling agent of hydroxyquinoline; irradiating the conditioned ore to excite and induce fluorescence; and separating the magnesian-rich mineral from the lean ore particles by detecting the difference of the fluorescence intensity.

  • Patent number: 4330420
Abstract: Described are low ash, low phosphorus motor oils having improved oxidation stability as a result of the addition thereto of synergistic amounts of a dialkyldiphenylamine antioxidant and of a sulfurized polyolefin. The synergism between the two additives compensates for the decreased amounts of phosphorus in the form of zinc dithiophosphate such that the oils retain an SE quality rating.

  • Patent number: 4269700
Abstract: Particulate glass values contained in the final inorganic fraction from comminuted municipal solid wastes and having the particle size between 10 mesh and 325 mesh are recovered by froth flotation depressing the glass and causing flotation of the gangue using as the beneficiation reagent a water compatible sulfonated hydrocarbon. Glass depression occurs by use of a mineral acid or fluoride ion and maintaining pH of the media less than about 4.
